The Sharks show only 1 enforced change, with consitency in selection again shown this week. An ankle injury to Sharks centre Riaan Swanepoel has necessitated the one and only change to the team’s starting XV for Saturday’s Super 14 rugby match against the Blues at the Absa Stadium in Durban.
Durban – Sharks coach John Plumtree has made one enforced change to his starting team to face the Blues at the Absa Stadium in Durban on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 17:05 SA time.
Andries Strauss has been named at inside centre in the place of Riaan Swanepoel who plays off the bench.
With the loss of Keegan Daniel and Ryan Kankowski to injury, Plumtree has brought in Michael Rhodes who will provide back-up at loose forward off the bench.

Not good news with Strauss to start. Now having doubts about a Shark win. Just look who is the Blues centres? We in trouble there. Bugger they have Rene Ranger too on the bench to just finish us off in the 2nd half. Suppose Swannie coming in later might help.

Sharks looking frail on defence in channels 9, 10, 12… then there’s the out of form Oupa Terblanche, out of form JP Pietersen and Odwa slowly only gaining some form…. and a youngster at the back.
Hell, the Sharks backline is looking kak, even you Sharks supporters must admit that.
If I was the Sharks I would concentrate ball possession up front against these okes and hope your backline defences hold those dangerous Blues runners at bay…

We need guys with pace in the backline,until we realise this and do something about it we will continue to remain a mid table side.. Odwa is too slow.between Swan and Strauss they have the vision of a 102 year old man with coke bottles for lenses,JP has forgotten how to catch a rugby ball.. And Andy Goode needs a one way ticket back to where he came from.. This whole thing shows poor planning from management,what are the plans to fix our backline?
Only thing keeping us alive are our forwards,our backline is rubbish except for Lambie and Oupa,people forget he is being played out of position at 13. Thank God Murray is not playing.he has not passed the ball since 2007. Barrit made him look much better than what he really was.
