The Bulls web site describes the win as follows:

The Vodacom Bulls are back on top of the Vodacom Super 14 log after beating the Chiefs 33-19 in Hamilton on Friday.

The Bulls, who scored twice in each half, was 15-13 up at the break, but some ill-discipline saw the home side surge ahead 19-15 through the boot of Stephen Donald. Mornè Steyn, who had a mixed day with the boot, kicked two penalties to get his side in front again and then Fourie du Preez struck.

The Bulls scrumhalf broke clear from halfway and although he was stopped short of the line, the Bulls held on to the ball and worked Gary Botha over. Steyn converted and with the Bulls 28-19 ahead with ten minutes to go, a first-ever win at Waikato stadium seemed imminent.

It was even more so when Du Preez intercepted a Chiefs pass and ran 80 meters to score, only for the try to be disallowed. Touch judge Kane Mcbride picked up a late tackle by Deon Stegmann in an earlier movement and instead of celebrating their bonus point try, the Bulls were looking at the Chiefs flyhalf to cut the deficit and bring the home side back in the game.

Incredibly, he missed from right in front. The Bulls then stepped it up once again and when Dewald Potgieter crashed over from a line-out maul, the home side were truly beaten.

The Bulls will be happy with their performances in the scrums and line-outs, where the rolling maul became more and more effective as the game wore on.

The backs defended stoutly and ran in a great try via Gerhard van den Heever. Zane Kirchner was outstanding in defence and the Chiefs could only break the Bulls defense lines with an opportunistic try by Brendon Leonard.

Chiefs: 1 Conversion & 4 Penalties Stephen Donald, 1 Try Brendon Leonard

722 – gbs, I came back to the country in 1994. Wanted to contribute to this country by working here and not overseas. Always felt unsafe but still loved living here. Now that I am getting older just not sure how safe we are anymore. We have a beautiful, beautiful country with great people and our weather is awesome, but somethings are scary for the future. If I had young childred would leave here. Don’t think there is much future for the young here.

Johannesburg – Defending IRB Sevens World Series champions South Africa have been drawn with Fiji – a team they’ve lost to in every one of their five outings in this year’s Series – for the penultimate tournament of the year at Twickenham on May 22 and 23.

The other two sides in Pool C are Canada and France – both capable of an upset here and there to upset the pool apple cart.

728 – Super, So would I. I would like any of the saffas for that matter to beat him..hahaha. Ernie though is playing some good golf again.

734 – Sharky, is that the final score?

  • 737

729@ Puma – The future is what we as South Africans make it….

The 95% SAFFAS who are peace-loving, should not let 5% of wayward farkers dictate to us…. if only the 95% could stand together….

Let me give you an example which applied today in my life…. little 11-year old Dennis Mokoena, our househelp’s one son, was here in my office… he knows me as Uncle Rudi… and I am like a second father to the family… They call me Ntate (father).

I promised to teach him a bit of how I fix computers, so I duly did… and we had a ball… TOGETHER…

    That’s how it should be….

733 – Super, that is a shame really. A huge shame. Also the greed of the airlines. They are charging soooooooooooooooo much for air tickets here during the swc and the hotels. Now it has come back to bite them on the butt. Shame that.

I was going to have 4 Scots coming over by the price of air tickets was far, far too much. R18 000 for a air ticket from Scotland??? Crazy it normally only costs R7 000

Now have only 2 coming over cause of the steep prices.

Okay with that I am out of here. Going to watch a bit of the Masters.

    Catch up tomorrow.

Ernie is going the wrong way again, dropped shots on the 4th and 7th hole on +1 today after 7

  • 740

737 – Rudi, Yes that is how it should be. Felt good today when you told me you were going to show him how you repair the computers. We need more people like YOU Rudi. I help out as much as I can too. If only we can all do a little bit it goes a long way.

Just this hate speach by the youth leader is not good.

I still love this country and all the people in it.

Just hope it all comes right. Far too many good people here for it not too. Well hope so.

Catch up tomorrow. Now out of here.

sharky that is sad, most cling to the mass action mindset. They will stand against the very people who did what GBS did. But boys we must leave it of this site. We are playing with fire.

740@ Puma – On the other hand, put good old moderate me and Odette Phillips (Hater) or her sidekick, Chuma Mshumpela (Transformation) together for too long and we’ll quickly be staring at one another over the barrel of a few guns, I’m sure…. the difference being I would not miss…

The problem is… these fattup farkers often manage to turn the moderate into farkers too…. that’s the main reason some of us left Voldy… I, for one, simply was not happy with the rot which had set in there, even what it made me do….

Push a gentle soul into a corner or too far and you will suffer the wrath…. the world is full of examples of this…
