It certainly looks like we chose the right weekend to get away from civilization and into the bush. Only one of the SA Teams managed a win this weekend… and there were 4 losses.

First up on Friday morning there was the diabolical Sharks who lost 35 / 6 against the Crusaders, then the Stormers went and lost against the Brumbies by 2 points (pencil in the Brumbies as a semi-finalist this year). Then on Saturday morning the Lions went and had their expected loss against the Hurricanes… by this time it was already 0 from 3 attempts by the SA sides.

Saturday afternoon the Cheetahs went and bent right down for a roggering by the Highlanders…. SA sides 0 from 4…

It was now all up to the Bulls to rectify matters… and yes, they saved South Africa’s honour again, bagging their 3rd successive 5 Log points, scoring 6 tries in the process.

I thought that not too many Stormers, Sharks, Lions and Cheetahs supporters would be in the mood for rugby talk, so I’ve included some photo’s of a non-rugby related nature, to sooth some severely stressed rugby supporters (Pity that I forgot my 10 Mega Pixel Camera’s charger at home though, the results could have been wayyyyyyyyyyyy better…. sorry).

How close to heaven can one get, without kicking the bucket? Well, damn close…

I spent the weekend on a private game farm in the Dwarsberge, about 30km from the Botswana border, as the crow flies. 4000 hectares of the most beautiful bush imaginable. There were White Lions, Golden Wildebeest, Black Impala, Buffaloes, Girrafes, Zebra, Sable, Kudu, waterbuck, Rooihartbeeste, Klipspringers…. man, too many differnt types of animals to mention.

There are 4 x 9-month old cheetah cubs as well as 2 x 4-month old lion cubs in the garden at the main house, a magnifficent hotel-like rock and thatch palace, right on top of the mountain, overlooking the most beautiful vista.

The company was good, the game drives excellent… the rest and relaxation priceless!

What a wonderful Country South Africa is!!

So, cheer up…. there’s always next week…. and life remains a song, sing it all out.
