In a shock move the Protea’s Head Coach has resigned 4 days before the team leaves for India.

Arthur’s relationship with South African captain Graeme Smith had deteriorated irreparably which has lead to Arthur’s resignation. Corrie Van Zyl has been appointed stand in coach after Vince Barnes was sacked.

Oh dear, this isn’t good at all. Cupboard seems to be a little bare when it comes to coaches.

    Que – AD
    Que – Corrie van zyl(temporary)
que – ray jennings then we will rock!

    Lh

mickey Arthur cashed in on the good work jennings did, he put in the hard yards 4 years ago.
Corrie van zyl is twice the coach arthur is and AD has been on record that he want to coach the bowlers, even vinnige fanie, although he is a bit controversial.

Guys that might not see a test again. De Wet, Ntini, Harris.

Cheers Mickey Mouse, never thought you where a good coach. Get Jennings back, and if need be, give Smith a package as well.

    Snoek,

Now I see everyone punting Wessels. I think Smith and Wessels has more bad blood than Smith and Jennings, Jeez this guy is gonna have a tough time if either is appointed.

As long as they don’t go for another soft-C*ck yes man like Sukri Conrad or something.

Although everyone knows that Kallis, Boucher and a couple others won’t play under him. Kallis left the cobras(i think) because of him.

Cricket is like Hurling – no one really cares. 😆

hmmm, it seems like graham have caught the dreaded KP disease 😯

Not good news really, then they say in cricket the captain controls the lot.

All the best Micky Arthur. We done our best under him. Won the test series in England and won the test and odi’s series in Oz.

    8 – Irish, Howzit mate,

You could have kept that nic for the S14. You still had your own nic just added something on, we all could still see who it was. Think it was fine. Think what GBS does not want is someone to change there nic totally that we don’t know who it is. With what you done yesterday you left it the same just with the end bit. I thought it was cool mate 😀

I think we need a new Cappie as well, Smith must still be in the team, but we need a new Captain……he thinks he is bigger than the game…

A case of ” the tail wagging the dog…”

Oh well shame, it is a bit sad but dont think he had anything more to offer the team, and we didgive the ozzies a good rogering with him as coach and that counts for a lot in my book, cause they are the high water mark.

This is not good news for me personally, his Dad John Arthur is an old friend from Pinetown and I remember his pride very well when his son was appointed. All in all Mickey has had a pretty good run. Our old Buddy Ben Muller was also buried (cremated) two weeks ago, so John probably wasnt feeling too great anyway.

Hmmm, let me think about a possible replacement.

I recall a Saffa coaching another national side quite successfully in recent times. In fact I think they maty be the worlds best ranked test side – India?

And wasn’t that fellow quite a successful international cricketer as well? What’s the guys name now?

    Oh yes, one Gary Kirsten.

I’m sure that the dinosaur that is Cricket SA would not be so forward thinking to make such an appointment, but when all is said and done, he seems to be doing a great job with a difficult bunch of players and officials. SHITE, that could almost be describing the SA team.
