So much was said about the management of our Springboks here. Many agreed that the players must be properly managed to make it to 2011 Rugby World Cup. Others denied the fatigue factor. We throw stones at SARU, Peter de Villiers and anyone else we think has created this long International season. Then we putt up a poll and guess what?

Although we had only 51 votes it is still funny or disturbing how divided we are.

13 in 2008
17 in 2007 World Cup Year

12 in 2005

12 in 2003 World Cup Year
The fact that 33% wanted 16 Tests but no one wants 14 let me think that that is either a spiteful vote against all the fatigue rumours, than a genuine desire to play more Tests. But if one take this line, 12 or less vs. 12 or more you find that,
12 or less gets 34 votes and,
12 or more gets 28 votes.
We can not make a decisive decision; can we expect it from them?

Super that is interesting. Yes think we all have our own answer to the problem but really how much rugby should the Boks play?
I would say no more than 10 Tests for the Boks in one year. Remember the same players are playing S14 and CC. Need to count that too.
The playing goes beyond just tests with a player. S14 most players play 13 games. Then CC about 5 if the team makes the final. So that is then 28 games in a year. Count that with all the training too. That is a lot of pressure on the body.
I would say not just one long rest a year but small rests inbetween all along they year. Much better for the body. Then a longer rest after the eoyt.

Whats that about?
If the Boks continue to play Super rugby and Currie cup with no sufficient rest period, then they should play no more than 10 tests in order to be competitive throughout the year, and ready for the world cup.
If the Boks will be properly managed(which they are not, at the moment) then 16 tests a year is the way to go imo.
We all agree that the boks are not properly managed. I think people voted with their opinion regarding bok management in mind, therefore the big poll split.
