View dismissal GC Smith* run out (Cook) 75 256 186 9 0 40.32
58.2 from Onions, Huge mix up between the batsmen! Smith dropped into the off side, and de Villiers, Pietersen-esque, ran down the wicket at him. Smith started to run, hesitated, turned around and Cook ran in to take the bails off, just beating Smith’s dive. 166/4
View dismissal AG Prince c Swann b Anderson 2 8 5 0 0 40.00
2.1 Anderson strikes early! Classic opening wicket, just back of a length, moved a touch away from Prince as he tried to defend off the back foot. It bounced a little more than he expected and ended up fencing, off the shoulder of the bat, to Graeme Swann at third slip. 3/1
View dismissal HM Amla lbw b Broad 2 35 22 0 0 9.09
9.4 massive blow! The fullest delivery of the match so far, and arguably of Broad’s entire tour, as Amla plants his front foot and doesn’t even ponder wasting a review on that one. HawkEye shows that that would have hit middle and leg two-thirds up, and England are on fire 10/2
View dismissal JH Kallis c Collingwood b Swann 75 197 132 7 0 56.81
55.3 got him! That has come out of nowhere, pushed across him, like so many balls before, but this time it gets the outside edge and goes, slightly gently, to Collingwood at slip! Crucial breakthrough 160/3
View dismissal AB de Villiers c †Prior b Broad 50 149 98 6 0 51.02
88.2 Broad does the trick! Full length, where all the magic happens, and swinging away a touch outside off, de Villiers goes for an expansive drive but nicks it through to Prior. England really needed that. 269/7
View dismissal JP Duminy lbw b Onions 4 9 9 0 0 44.44
60.1 gone! This time it’s dead straight, swinging back at Duminy from that good length which Onions pursues, no uncertainty from the umpire. Onions really deserves that, he has bowled well all day 170/5
View dismissal MV Boucher lbw b Swann 39 72 50 5 0 78.00
77.1 well, well, we have a review coming up … and it’s looking good for England … Swann straightened one from round the wicket, Boucher got in a good stride, but the ball clearly struck pad before bat, and HawkEye suggests it would have hit middle two-thirds of the way up. And that’s out! 233/6
View dismissal M Morkel lbw b Swann 23 87 49 2 0 46.93
95.6 well, that you have to say was coming. Morkel was bamboozled for five deliveries, and this one finally pins him in front of off. He calls for the review, but it’s a futile gesture. That struck him on the shin, and that is curtains 285/9
View dismissal PL Harris lbw b Swann 2 15 12 0 0 16.66
91.5 We have a review, very full and Harris is sweeping rather clumsily, he misses and is rapped him on the pads. Given out but Harris calls for a review. He may think he’s hit it but replays don’t suggest that. Pitched in line, and hitting, and given out 280/8
View dismissal DW Steyn c †Prior b Anderson 47 66 58 3 3 81.03

Another day has almost come and gone
Can’t imagine what else could wrong
Sometimes I’d like to hide away somewhere and lock the door
A single battle lost but not the war (‘cause)

    Tomorrow’s another day
    And I’m thirsty anyway
    So bring on the rain

Hi Ashley hope you had a wonderful chrismas, just came back in at 64 for 6. That is shocking !!!!!!!!

Think our cricket team needs some sort of revamping, this not acceptable.

    Someday when my crying’s done
I’m gonna wear a smile and walk in the sun
    I may be a fool
But till then, darling, you’ll never see me complain
I’ll do my crying in the rain
I’ll do my crying in the rain
I’ll do my crying in the rain
I’ll do my crying in the rain

473 – Ash, How you mate? Hope well.

Yip, Agree, Think England have outplayed us here for sure. Just do think somehow if we bowled first when that pitch was not really good for batting it may have been different. GS got it wrong. I was hoping after about 20 overs the first day it would settle down and become a really good for batting. It never did we struggled out there.

Just have to re-group for Newlands where at least we should get 5 days of cricket without rain.

Snoek wasnt there a Cullen as well, think he had cancer for a while and by the way i lovvvvvvvved Hansie dont think he actually lost a game for money. Maybe other things.

Ha !! I really have gone outside buck naked and done a raindance in the dry season with a guinne fowl feather in my hair doing the yaaayaya whooping thing but told the hub if it rains he has to round around the garden naked but he never has.

  • 490

489 – Well I hope it works for us. Not in this test we are done here but for Newlands. 😀

  • 491

See Boucher still in and Morkel. Boucher on 20 probably our highest score today. Boucher the fighter always doing it for us. Why some people want him dropped is just plain stupid if you ask me. Now if they all could have batted like Bouch we may have had a chance.

  • 492

No Puma only done in times of drought

  • 493

489 – Hope it works for us at Newlands. Here we have no chance.

See Bouch on 20 and still in with Morkel. Boucher the fighter still doing it for us. Why some people want him dropped is just stupid. Now if most batted like him today we may still be in with a chance.

    ok, sing with me 😆

Someone told me long ago, there’s a calm before the storm.
I know, and it’s been comin’ for some time.
When it’s over, so they say, it’ll rain a sunny day.
I know, shinin’ down like water.

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
comin’ down on a sunny day?

Juffrou:”Now I’ll ask some “Who am I” sort of questions, okay?”

    Jannie :”Yup”

Juffrou: You stick your pole inside me. You tie me down to get me up. I get wet before you.

    Jannie :”A tent”

Juffrou: A finger goes into me. You fiddle with me when you’re bored. The best man always has me first

    Die hoof lyk baie gespanne.

    Jannie :”wedding ring”

Juffrou: I come in many sizes. When I’m not well I drip. When you blow me you feel good.

    Jannie :”Nose”

Juffrou:I have a stiff shaft. My tip penetrates I come with a quiver.

    Jannie :”Arrow”

Juffrou: What starts with a F ends with a K that means a lot of excitement?

    Jannie :”firetruck

Sê die hoof: Sit die klein bliksem in Gr.5! Ek het die laaste 10 antwoorde verkeerd gehad!!!

    503 – Ash 😆

Ek het die hele donnerse spul verkeerd. 🙄

And that is a big defeat by the proteas. Kom manne, julle kan beter as dit.

    Ok
Alles oor, en wat ‘n skande!!
Hier is soos ons kolwers en boulers in die eerste twee toetse gevaar het:

    Smith- 0, 12,75,22 =109 teen 27
    Prince- 45, 0, 2,16 =63 teen 16
    Amla- 19,100, 2,06 =127 teen 32
    Kallis- 120, 4,75, 3 =202 teen 51
    AB- 32, 64,50, 2 =148 teen 37
    Duminy- 56, 11, 4, 0 = 71 teen 18
    Boucher- 49,63*,39,29 =180 teen 60
Maklik om te sien wie nie hul f@kken deel doen nie!!

    Die boulers as volg:
    Steyn – * , * , 2/94
    Morkel- 1/60, 2/46, 3/78
    Ntini- 2/78, 0/41, 0/114
    Haris- 5/123, 2/51, 1/146
    De Wet- 1/72 , 4/55, *
    Duminey- 1/70 , 0/12, 3/89
    Kallis- * , 0/12, 0/43

Congrats to England and Carol… pityful display by the Proteas… they deserved getting their arses kicked big time!

Ashley, we are shocked, shocked!! Am going to have to go to confession after reading that, surely it must be a mortal sin? heh, heh.

Saffas do have a sense of humour after all. 🙂

508 – GBS Where were all the Proteas supporters?

No wonder the Saffas lost heart if the only spectators were the Barmy Army!!

    The stands looked empty!
