As on www.wetalkrugby.com

Manie Reyneke says Willem Alberts and Louis Ludik should not be in pre-season training with the Sharks.

As you know, they were spotted training with the Sharks this week!!!

According to Reyneke, they have not been released from their contracts.  Willem Alberts should be training with the Lions. Louis Ludik is injured so he should be doing rehab with the Lions.

Manie tried to speak to the players agent, Peet v Zyl, but he had nothing to say on this matter..because you are in the wrong PEET.

According to Reyneke, they have not approached Spencer or Hayman, but are looking for some international players to strengthen the squad. Mina Nassif is just training with the squad. He doesn’t have a contract with the Lions. The GLRU will first test his rugby abilities before contracting the former Tukkies player.

Dankie Supa. Hierdie site en Wetalkrugby is lekker om op te gesels.

Stem Ed. Dis regtig twee goeie sites. Ek hou van die Bulls se site ook.

Ed clear this up for me please…

Reports suggests that Ludik and Alberts have the same contract as Jaque which we of course know how that ended…

Is this the case or not?

  • 5

It is the case Morne. the contracts are still binding till next year though.

  • 6

Is Manie clutching at straws though or what is the story?

Surely they know that Ludik and Alberts can follow Jaque’s route which has been proven to be a loss for the Lions or are there something else in the works?

I see the Ex Bulls & Lions prop, Marius Hurter is now the Lions Lawyer…. fark Marius, sort the Contracts out first, chop!

    GBS,

I really feel for the Lions boet but fark me, if players are so desperate in wanting to leave where they simply ignore current (albeit in their favour) contractual obligations then I have to ask WTF is going on in the administration of the union?

Poor old Manie who I like and rate is seemingly killing fires he did not start and only damages his own rep at the moment where the real culprits at the Lions will continue to ‘serve’ the union arguably for years to come???

8@ Morné – Yip, lots still wrong there, they must make a clean break and let the players go who want to go… turn the page, start doing things right from hereon in…

But tell this to the vervent Lions supporters and they get their knickers in a knot… they think their team is the best thing since sliced bread… but do not want to accept that they’re still carrying some of the rot with them at present…. oeeeeee they’re so excited about next year and about all the teams that they are supposedly suddenly going to klap into submission…

In die land van die blindes… and all those things…

    GBS @9

GBS not all of us are so blind, and there is a very active group of individuals active in trying to improve things administratively in Doornfontein.

Unfortunately the majority of people only see the public face(s) associated to any Union, but people associated to the Union know the true depth of the problems.

Kevin de Klerk was elected Prsident on 27th July this year. In the four months that he has held the reigns I think he has had something of a rude awakening regarding the enormity of his task.

In addition to Kevin being elected President a new Executive Committee was elected with some of the dead wood being discarded and new people who promised much being elected.

Whilst some of the new people have done some good work, there are also some who have totally disappointed and failed to deliver anything.

I’m not sure that the people who elected the new Exco’ into power will be as patient for a turn around as they were with the previous Exco’.

The question I have to ask is how long before the Honeymoon ends and the married life starts?
