There are four changes to the Springbok midweek team’s starting line-up for Tuesday’s match against Saracens at Wembley in London.

The combination that went down 17-22 to Leicester on 6 November has a new front row with Wian Du Preez, Adriaan Strauss and CJ van der Linde replacing Gurthrö Steenkamp, Chiliboy Ralepelle and Jannie du Plessis, who all sustained injuries in the Leicester clash.

In another change, Jean Deysel starts ahead of Davon Raubenheimer at flank. The rest of the bench is unchanged.

Flank Dewald Potgieter will captain the team.

Springbok team: 15 Earl Rose, 14 Odwa Ndungane, 13 Juan de Jongh, 12 Wynand Olivier, 11 Jongi Nokwe, 10 Ruan Pienaar, 9 Heini Adams, 8 Ashley Johnson, 7 Dewald Potgieter (capt), 6 Jean Deysel, 5 Andries Bekker, 4 Danie Rossouw, 3 CJ van der Linde, 2 Adriaan Strauss, 1 Wian du Preez.

Reserves: 16 Bandise Maku, 17 Heinke van der Merwe, 18 Alistair Hargreaves, 19 Davon Raubenheimer, 20 Francois Hougaard, 21 Meyer Bosman, 22 Riaan Viljoen.

Baie bly vir Dewald se part!
Hy is nou ook uiteindelik ‘n Jan!!

Met die beskikbare spelers wonder ek of die agterlyn nie eerder so moes gelyk het nie:
    Riaan Viljoen
    Francois Hougaard
    De Jongh
    Olivier
    Nokwe
    Rose
    Pienaar

Ek sou tot vir Meyer Bosman op losskakel gespeel het voor ek weer vir Pienaar daar speel!

Janee, my agterlyn sou dalk soos volg gewees het:

    9 Francois Hougaard
    10 Meyer Bosman
    11 Nokwe
    12 Wynand Olivier
    13 Juan de Jongh
    14 Riaan Viljoen
    15 Earl Rose

3@ Koningkie – Janee, Raubenheimer is kak, klaar!

Danie Pakslae lyk ook vir my tam en mifffff… en klein Hougie moes begin het op scrummie man!

  • 5

Ja, of Hougaard op skrummie, of Pienaar. Ek sien jy voel ‘n fok vir Pienaar! hehehe

  • 6

5@ Koningkie – Pienaar speel huidiglik soos sy hond se hol.

  • 7

Het jy gesien hoe skrum daai Spaghettivreters die AllBlacks?

  • 8

    7@ Koning – Ja… kwaai!

Bit of a slap in the face for Maku and Van Der Merwe, or were they aware that they should never have been on tour in any case?

  • 10

Ek sou vir Hougaard op 9 laat begin het.

Really pleased to see D. Potgieter going to Captain the Dirt Trackers. Should have done so against the Tigers.

If Deysel is going to play openside then think coaches must be going to play Potgieter for the Test. Think Burger is injured. Not sure has anyone heard more about that injury to Burger?

Much better team that started against Tigers but probably would have had FH at scrummie and wish that Mapoe was selected which he should have been to play 14. Odwa not playing that great and think in Mapoe we have a Habs in the making.

Now wonder if Barritt will start for Saracens? Will be interesting to see him and WO play.

Still think it was a huge loss to lose Barritt to NH. Still has not played for England yet. So there is still chance for him to play for the Boks. Although I spoke to him when he was here on holiday in June and he seemed very happy in England.
