The Bok team that will play in the opening match against Leicester as been named.

“Our focus is fully on the Leicester match because it is important that we get the tour off to a good start,” said Springbok coach Peter de Villiers.

“It is also important that we strive to give all of the newcomers game time in the opener. It is also great to have a host of players in the 22 that have played at Test level and can use their experience to assist the newcomers to settle quickly.

  • 36

lol boompie , naw i just kidding but it is weird how pdiv keeps making space for rose when there are far better players of colour and more deserving

    like mapoe , etc

  • 37

  • 39

36 – I know deserveing okes that can wear Bok colours with pride and not be called so called quota’s.

  • 40

Mapoe and the Cheetahs front row are all damn unlucky not to have been chosen…. so too the 2nd best Fly Half in the Country at present, Jacques-Louis Potgieter.

So too Joe Petersen of WP, Alberts from the Lions…

Snorre gaan moeilikheid veroorsaak as hy:
    1. Brussow nie ook teen Franse speel nie
    2. Adi bo WO op binnesenter speel

Al wat ek kan dink hy besig is om te doen, is om ‘n paar ervare spelers saam met die jongmanne te laat speel.

Van hierdie groep dink ek die volgende gaan deel wees van die 22tal:

    Jannie D
Ralapele, nie uit verdienste nie maar …
    Danie
    Brussow
    Dewald
    Ruan
    WO

42@ Bommninny – I was quite sober at 02:00 in the morning on Sunday… no really…

One of the bloggers here, Cuzzy’s Brother In Law,the mad farker, bought me a DOUBLE TOT GLASS of Drambuie at Elephants & Friends (pub) and I forced the FARKING KAKKAS into myself, nearly kotching in the process, retching like mad…. that put me totally off drinking on Saturday night…. even Tequila… and that says a lot… nothing tasted good after the Drambuie… so I gently sipped on some sletsappies and enjoyed the vibe, the friends and the celebration.

44 – GBS noooo man, was expecting Blue Bull undies on the head instead of horns kind of stories. 🙂

Bakkies wipeing daughters nose, fav photo. Jeez but they took forever to load.

  • 54

    treehugger @ 51
    ag noooooooo man
and here i imagined a shotgun wedding (not for you of course) 😀

  • 55

    Should have been…

    Kichner/Terblanche
    Ndugane
    de Jongh
    Olivier
    Grant
    Sarel Pretorius
    Johnson
    Potgieter
    Brussow
    Bekker
    Russouw
    WP Nel
    Liebenberg
    Wian du Preez

But of course many of these guys did not even make the tour. Does Div and co think this is a team that could take over and play in the next world cup??? Nee man, regtig nou.

  • 56

49@ Boomninny – This is my 2nd “rondekop huisdier”…. 1st one was as mad as a hatter… that’s where I get my sense of humor from.

Looks like Brussow has been dropped and will not play in France in the first test. Seems he is dropped to the ‘Dirt Trackers Team’

    Read on rugby-365 and Supersport.

Now I am really, really pissed off. Bugger just when I was getting behind our coach he does this. Or is it still mind games? I don’t think so. Brussow has played non-stop rugby since S14, Lions Series, Tri-Nations then CC. He has had no rest so to play in the Dirt Tracker team he will not play in the Test it seems. Damn unfair on the worlds best number 6.

France will be rubbing their hands at the prospect of not having Brussow to face in the Bok side.

New guys who played in Peter de Villiers’ U/21 teams:
    Ralepelle, Mahlatse Chiliboy
    Rose, Earl
    Raubenheimer, Davon
    Bekker, Andries
    Maku, Bandise Grey
    Johnson, Ashley Francois
    Hargreaves, Alistair John

    That leaves:
Riaan Viljoen (Who is a very good player, but a very poor defender), Juan de Jongh, and Heini Adams as the guys who are not there because they are Peter de Villiers’ favorites from his U/21 squad. I’m sorry this is why U/21 coaches shouldn’t coach the Springboks!

Where is everyone tonight? Back later when more have logged on.

Sometimes i wonder if PDV watches our local rugby. There is so many good players in SA that never get a chance, even when they perform.

But then again, people never see the bad in a player they like and they never see the good in a player they dont like.
