The 2 big locks have been cited for foul play after the Sharks crashed out of the 2009 Currie Cup.
Johan Muller has been cited for the dangerous high tackle which ended the Cheetahs stand out hooker , Richart Strauss’s, Currie Cup semi final. The tackle saw Strauss leave the field with his eye swollen shut. Ashley Johnson moved from #8 to hooker and bravely dispatched the Sharks ,Springbok laden, front row.
Cheetahs lineout kingpin, Dawid De Villiers, has been cited for a stray elbow to the face of Sharks replacement Keagan Daniel. Daniel was not hurt and continued to play in the loss against the Cheetahs. The Bulls lock Bakkies Botha was yellow carded for a much more serious elbow to the face of a WP player in the other semi final.
Muller and De Villiers will appear before the judicial committee on Wednesday morning.
De Villiers was cleared of any foul play and is able to be selected to face the Bulls in the Currie Cup Final. There is no word as yet on Mullers fate.
The VRYSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT will be in a little bit of bother if De Villiers is ruled out. Ag but then some U21 star of the future will just step up to the plate and take on the worlds best locks.

At one stage on Saturday Strauss’s eyes looked like a bad case of East meet West. Must’ve kept the only Japanese national selector present at Kings Park interested…
Seriously, maybe we need to follow soccer’s example here: during a World Cup tournament all yellow cards and suspensions are lifted to make the final as entertaining as possible.
I suggest that if they want to continue with this citing let the judicial committee sit next Wednesday morning.
And if I recall correctly Bakkies also mastered the art of the stray elbow last Saturday, yet no citing?
@fender – Bakkies will not be cited, imagine the backlash from the Bulls if they have to play without thier enforcer and with Kaplan as ref. The excuses would flood this site.
