Western Province will face Boland with a team that shows eight changes from the team that demolished Griquas last weekend.

Several players who have seen regular action since the start of the year will be rested.

Former Australian Schoolboys flyhalf Matt Toomua who joined the Province last week on a short-term contract, will wear the no 10 jersey in the absence of Peter Grant who is not in the squad this weekend. Toomua looked sharp and keen during the second half against Griquas, especially taking the terrible conditions and the fact that he only had one run with the team into account.

Allister Coetzee explained that the players who have been rested need to stay fresh for the team’s remaining games which will in all likelihood include a semi-final clash.

Springbok lock Andries Bekker will make a welcome come-back after a five week lay-off due to injury.

The Vodacom Western Province team: Joe Pietersen, Tonderai Chavhanga, Frikkie Welsh, Paul Bosch, Sireli Naqelevuki, Matt Toomua, Ricky Januarie, Luke Watson (captain), Pieter Louw, Francois Louw, Andries Bekker, De Kock Steenkamp, JC Kritzinger, Tiaan Liebenberg and JD Moller.

Reserves: Deon Fourie, Brok Harris, Anton van Zyl, Duane Vermeulen, Bolla Conradie, Conrad Hoffmann and Juan de Jongh.

Go Bolla, go Bolla, go Bolla!!!

When are the coaches learn that to respect their opposition and not make so many changes? Me thinks that this will motivate the Boland!

So verwag ‘n paar harde tackles!!

@Boerboel – I disagree, the Boland and Leopards should be treated with the respect that they deserve in accordance with their results.

Stem saam loosehead.
