Mumblings and rumblings after vital losses this weekend is making me grumpy this morning !
First we hear mumblings from Peter de Villiers that the Travel-factor has assisted in the loss of the Bokke, this past weekend. Then we hear from the Bokke skipper, John Smit, that the Bokke simply do not know what went wrong!
Hey, Snorrie & John, do not start the Traveling Circus up… accept that the Bokke lost to a fiercely motivated Ozzmob side, who threw everything at a lazy Bokke side this weekend.
Blue Bulls, same applies to you… no moaning about Pro Legoete or the fact that so many of your stars are at the Bokke !!
The Bokke and Bulls suffered exactly the same fate on Saturday, they were pummelled in the scrums, with their tight heads taking serious strain. Werner Kruger, the Bulls No 3, popped out like a cork in almost every scrum… as a Bulls supporter it was agonizing to watch and endure. John Smit, Bokke captain and tight head, did not do much better, popping up and out on regular occasions.
Both John and Werner seemed to make the same mistakes, going into the hit far too high AND with bent backs.
The plea today is for a scrum doctor to assist the Bokke as soon as possible.
The plea is also for the Blue Bulls to appoint a scrum doctor and fix the problem, else to get the injured Frik Kirsten to replace Werner Kruger as soon as humanly possible.
Remember how we scoffed at WP’s front row, barely 6 months ago? What has changed? I’ll tell you what has changed…. Mathew Proudfoot, the WP scrum doctor has performed miracles with the WP front row and his cause has considerably been helped by getting 2 decent locks, Anton van Zyl & Chris Jack to pack down behind the WP front row.
Face it folks, rugby is still a game won by those who fire up the engine room… the fatties in the front row, the tall fellas in the second row and those scavengers in the back row.
It appears from utterings today, after practise by the All Blacks, that they are licking their lips to give the Bokke scrum a full go on Saturday. They should also be equally motivated as the Wallabies were this past weekend, because they are still smarting from the losses they took against the Bokke.
Bokke, get you head space right, focus, sort out the scrumming this week !
Bulls, you have another biggie on Saturday, the Sharks! The same applies to you, this week you need to dig deep, this week your props, hookers & locks need to stand up and say, no more nonsense!
Ahhh, it feels better already, having gotten this off my chest today!

So you reckon Kuun was perplexed that Pro did not yellow the Bulls a few times for repeated infringements in the red zone.

PA, I was also unhappy with that. Look, WP deserved the win and were better on the day and its not their fault the Bulls cant scrum. But Pro seemed to prefer scrummaging! At least 4 or 5 times, the ball was ready to be played in the ruck, on both sides and he stopped the play, just to force a scrum. And offcourse, every time we either got penalised there or murdered. I felt he couldve let play continue as the ball was right there to be played. But then again, Bulls couldve had a yellow earlier in the game for infringing. WP wouldve won with any other ref out there, but Pro looked more like an amateur…
Anyway, the WP were all over us and deserved the 4 points! They had a very good crowd at Newlands as well!

Ek het wel lekker gelag vir die volgende ‘comment’ op supersport:

Nee wat BDB, natuurlik gaan hulle n verskil maak. Bakkies vs Flip, Matffield vs Wilhelm, FDP vs Heini, Morne vs Francis, Wynand vs Watermeyer etc. Daai ouens is verseker in n ander klas.
Dit gese, as ons Saterdag gaan verloor maak ons dit baie moeilik vir onsself aangesien ons dan heel moontlik die WP en Haaie WEG sal moet wen om die die CC te wen.

He was useless really. But Im not going to dwell on that anymore as I am actually just happy we got out there with a bonuspoint. Bulls have gotten three bonuspoints in the last minute of a game. Sharks, Lions and WP. Thats crucial.

Wie weet, dalk wen julle die CB, en dan is dit soos die gemeente wat ‘n groot afskeidpartytjie vir hul dominee gehou het wat weggegaan het (eintlik omdat hul so bly is hy gaan weg!).
