Quins confirm Botha’s departure

Harlequins have mutually agreed with Springbok Gary Botha an early release from his playing contract in order for him to return to South Africa with his family.
In a statement released by the club on Monday evening, Harlequins thanked Botha for his contribution to the club and wished him well for his future back in South Africa.
The press release also confirmed that this weekend’s upcoming clash with Bath would be the former Blue Bulls hookers last for Quins.
Speaking about the departure of Botha, head coach John Kingston, said: “I am personally very saddened to see Gary departing us for South Africa. He has been an integral part of the recent success of Quins. Equally, the club understands his situation and were clearly happy to facilitate his return back home.”
Botha himself added: “I have clearly enjoyed my time at Quins and it is with a heavy heart that I will be leaving.
“I would like to place on record my gratitude to Quins for agreeing to my situation and allowing an early release from my contract. I have made many friends in my time at the club and will watch with interest the progress of the team.”

Very good news! Glad its confirmed. Chilliboy and Kuun hasnt had the same impact. Kuun will play off the bench and replace Stegmann next year at flank. The Bulls lost their three games when Stegmann was injured in the s14, we had no decent replacement. Now we do.
Niemand noem wat Gary se redes is nie. Is iemand in sy familie siek of bedoel hy hy gaan terug na sy regte familie(Die Bulle) 🙂
Supa, dink jy hulle sal dalk elkeen ‘n helfte gee? Kuun was skitterend op flank voordat hulle hom geskuif het, ek dink nie hy sal ooit groot genoeg wees om haker te speel nie so dit is ‘n goeie besluit.

Glo nie elkeen sal n helfte kry nie. Maar Kuun sal n goeie plaasvervanger vir Stegmann of Potgieter wees as een van hulle afgaan of natuurlik beseer is. Jy kan self Spies afhaal na 60min, Potgieter 8 toe skuif en Kuun op flank speel. Met Kuun daar kan ons meer roteer en die ouens vars hou. Dink dit gee ons net meer opsies daar.
Bulle het teen Brumbies, Highlanders en Saders verloor en GESUKKEL sonder n goeie fetcher in daai wedstryde.
Om n goeie SQUAD te he is die mees belangrikste dink in die s14. Want jy gaan beserings kry, en dan moet die volgende spelers op daai vlak kan speel.
