This is a press release from the Vodacom Bulls website:

The Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd has secured the services of the Griquas’ tighthead prop Bees Roux.
The 27-year-old Roux has signed a two year contract with the Bulls on Thursday afternoon and he will join up with his new team mates on November, 1.

Roux, who made his Absa Currie Cup debut in 2005 for the Leopards before he joined the Griquas in 2007, says he is extremely excited about all the new challenges and opportunities that await him at Loftus Versfeld and he is convinced that it was the right thing to do at this stage of his career.

“I’ve have a wonderful time in Kimberley with the Griquas and I am sad to leave, but an offer to play for the Bulls is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“The Bulls are a highly successful team and it will be a huge honour to play with all their world class players.

“I can obviously learn a great deal from them and I would like contribute to what they have achieved in the last couple of seasons.”

Coach Frans Ludeke added that it was very important for the Bulls to sign another experienced tighthead and he is full of confidence that Roux will be able to anchor the Bulls’ scrum.

“Bees has done very well for the Cheetahs in the Super 14 and together with Werner Kruger, Frik Kirsten and Rossouw de Klerk we will be able to go from strength to strength in the future.”

This is really good news for the Bulls supporters as the Bulls scrum has been struggling the past year. Hopefully Bees Roux can make a difference and help the Bulls to once again dominate up front or at least hold their own.

    You doing well there then.

In the CC just pick Sharks thats a sure bet 😀

I think in the Tri-Nations I feel the ABs will take it. Will be close by 3 or 5. They are hurting and ABs can come back strong when they are like that. Much like our Boks.

    Go with the ABS.

Sharks should take it, but the Cheetahs have caused a few upset agsint the Sharks before!
Not sure, the Aussie might come back strong against NZL. They really outplayed us n the last test in Aus.

  • 44

@smallies72 – Do you really think you Cheetahs can win 7, 8 in a row, i think reality is back. Well i hope so , the Bulls dont need a fired up Cheetah team next week.

Who says JJ Harmse writes with blue glasses on?
A lot of Blue Bulls fans are expecting their side to conquer all with the bulk of their Boks back in the mix.

The reality is that a couple of them will not be available immediately. Bakkies Botha and Bryan Habana will still be out for two more weeks; Botha with a wobbly knee and Habana on his honeymoon next week.

Fourie du Preez and Pierre Spies are also on a rehab programme and will probably only feature in the last two weeks of competition.

The Blue Bulls have a relatively easy-looking run-in after this weekend’s clash against the Boland Cavaliers. They host the Cheetahs and Griquas and then play in Rustenburg against the Leopards to finish the regular season.

The other reality for Bulls fans is that the Super 14 side that won the title, battled against the other South African sides in that competition and only managed to beat them by a single digit points difference.

Expect them to be the big players come the playoffs though, as they have the experience and pedigree when it comes to knock-out rugby.

We are already accredited by the Vodacom Free State Cheetahs Union… no problem

Bulls will be a formality, I’m dealing with nice people, who just happen to know Handbriekie very well, having advertised through her…

    No PROBLEM !
