Today we had the much awaited match between the Wallabies and the Springboks, taking place at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. The Wallabies won convincingly, 21 / 6
The Wallabies came out firing from the first whistle, playing the better game, throughout the match. They scored first, through a Giteau penalty and stayed in front right to the end.
Initally it was trading penalties and drop goals and a hard physical battle. The Wallabies scored two tries, first by Ashley Cooper, and then near the end, one by James O’Conner.
The Springboks never crossed the allabie try line.
One important record was achieved by Morne Sten, becomming the Bok player to score the fastest 100 points in the history of the game, beating the record Jannie de Beer, who (Jannie) scored his 100 from 9 Tests.

John S – Teleurstelling van game. As kaptein en as speler. Sy intensiteit was nêrens en het afgesmeer aan ander spelers. Very disappointing. Ausies het JS ge-target in scrums, en dit het gewerk. Ons kort seriasly ‘n sterk vasskop.
Bismarck – Ja well, vasste los was OK. Hy speel met rukke en stote en lyk soos ‘n opportunis wat rondhang en wag vir iets great om te gebeur.
Beast – Moer baie druk op hom omdat hy moet kompenseer vir JS se gebrek aan vasskop ervaring. Steeds sy man gestaan, decent performance.
Adi Jacobs – Eish, hy’s te stadig vir senter, en hy moet vleuel speel? Not good at all.
Schalk – Een swaeltjie maak nie ‘n somer nie. Het probeer maar altyd bal op agtervoet gekry.
Rossouw – Soos altyd niks spectacular, maar steeds niks verkeerd.
Steyn – Gelyk soos daai game wat hy losskakel vir SA gespeel het teen Italië. Probeer te hard om ‘n verskil te maak.
Met die klein rugby wat nou verby is vir die naweek, kan ons 2 groot games sit en kyk.

504 @grootblousmile – Nee, GBS, ek dink sharky het ‘n geldige paar punte daar wat hy noem. Ja, die Aussies was baie goed op die dag, en ons was nie goed nie, maar ons is na my mening nie toegelaat om so lekker te speel soos die aussies nie. Daar was ‘n paar crucial strafskoppe wat ons moes kry, wat dalk die momentum van die game sou gedraai het.
Maar dit was nie bedoel nie, ons vat hom op die kinnebak (veral die ref se houe), en gaan voort !
Go Bokke, wen volgende week, nie met bonuspuntjies nie, maar deur die AB’s in hul eie land te klop … want dit is wat ons moet doen in 2011 se WB.
Benader die game soos ‘n WB finaal, dan choke die AB’s gewoonlik !

But Oz were better tuned on the day, so they deserved to win anyway.
We, as world champions, shouldn’t be blown out of games by refs, we should play the refs out of the game by overwhelming the opposition, if you know what I mean.

Congrats Ozzies – you were the better team today.
Unfortunately the ref was poorer than poor. If you poor with decisions on both sides then all is well, but in this case you favoured only one team. It’s a shame.
But all is not over and I still believe the Boks will pull it off next week and the Ozzies have a good chance of beating the AB’s in NZ as well.

Soos irish devil sê (#527): as hy sleg is, moet hy ten minste altwee kante toe sleg wees.
So, die AB’s moet ons en die Aussies met bonuspunte wen, en verhoed dat ons een of twee bonuspunte kry. Wel, as hul dit regkry, en ons kan nie eers een bonuspunt kry nie, dan verdien die AB’s dit.
