The Springbok rugby run-on side to face England on Saturday at 16:30 SA Time (14:30 GMT) is unchanged from last weekend, with Pat Cilliers on the bench in place of CJ van der Linde and Elton Jantjies replacing Morné Steyn.
CJ van der Linde, who did not have a stellar game against Scotland and for that matter against Ireland, was injured during Monday’s practice and the decision was taken to send him home to South Africa.
Elton Jantjies has not had any game time on tour yet and it was to be expected that he would either start or be on the bench for the England Test, in light of the fact that it would be his only chance to showcase what he’s got in comparison to Patrick Lambie who has not set the world alight in the first two Tests of the tour. Elton Jantjies will be able to stake his place off the bench and the hope is that he is given sufficient game time, to be measured, under the same circumstances as Patrick Lambie.

Cape Town – Francois Hougaard, who’s currently doing duty at wing for the Springboks, says he only wants to be considered at scrumhalf in the near future.
Hougaard has been used regularly at either wing or scrumhalf over the last few years, but if the 24-year-old has his way, Saturday’s Test against England at Twickenham will be his last in the No 11 jersey.
“My preferred position is definitely scrumhalf and I do think that playing wing as much as I have been has hurt my play as a scrumhalf,” Hougaard told the supersport.com website on Wednesday.
“I have made it known to the coaches at the Bulls that scrumhalf is where I want to specialise from now on. I will only develop as a scrumhalf if I play there regularly. What I need is a full pre-season where I work only as a scrumhalf, and then to play only as a scrumhalf when the season starts. That will get me thinking like a scrumhalf.
“There are a lot of technical aspects of scrumhalf that require a heck of a lot of hard work and preparation, and I just haven’t been able to put in the time that is needed as I have been playing so much on the wing. Playing 10 minutes or so as a scrumhalf later in the game after playing the first part as a wing is not going to help me develop into the player I want to be.”
Hougaard also admitted that his inclusion at left wing above Lwazi Mvovo makes him feel uncomfortable. “I feel for Lwazi because he is a top player,” he told the Beeld website. “I really want Lwazi to play, because it’s not nice for me. It feels unfair that I play in his position.”

Lelik aarde toe gebring na ons die Engelse geboelie het. En net toe ons dink die Aussies se oorheersing is verby oor SA, staan Warne, Clarke en Hussey op. Ons moet nog kolf, maar as Kallis en Amla nie ons red met 100talle nie, is dit tickets, dan wag ‘n groot, baie groot choke op die Proteas hier.

yes, things are not looking good. cant remember when last we conceded 400+ runs on one day,
but
the loss of vernon (before the start) and a on-fire kallis (after about 4 overs) conspired against us.
add to that a few decisions that didnt go our way and that about sums up our day!!
good thing though is that WE still need to bat (hopefully kallis will be able to bat). lets wait till then to give an opinion about the pitch (or our bowling or for that matter their batting).

btw, think that should we still win this series, it may go down as one of our best (yes, even better than the series win last time round). we’ve been a bowler and batsman down in the first test (duminy) and now lost the service of vernon and maybe even kallis in the 2nd. this is the stuff that legends are made of!!
91: dink ook hy moet spesialiseer, alhoewel daar behalwe JPP en Habana nie enige vleuels is wat uitstaande is in SA nie, so hy kan daar tydelik uithelp. Ouens soos Mvovo, Basson, Ndgane broers, JJE, Aplon is OK, maar nie op JPP en Habana se vlak tans nie.
Hougies moet ook sy vinger uit sy hol uittrek, ophou prentjies teken op sy arms en bietjie weer begin rugby speel, anders moet die Bulle hom drop en Jano speel.

I actually rate Jano. He’s a more all-round scrummie than Hougaard, I would have played him at test level as a starter if I had to choose already.

kyk, maak geen fout nie, ons is beslis op die agtervoet hier, maar ek dink die pitch het baie daarmee te doen. laat ons sien hoe ons batsmen daarop vaar. as ons op par of beter as hulle kan wees na ons 1st innings het ons ñ groot kans om ñ beslissing in d game af te dwing!
