Rugby-TalkIt’s PUB NIGHT again… I have finally shaken off my lazy bones!

The heading suggests we talk about “Fetchers”… and “Maklike Girls”, but keep it tidy boys or yerrrr might be “Fetching” some ban time… hahahaha!

I cannot get past the need of a true fetcher in rugby and in the absense of such fetcher the need to contract 2 more quality fetchers, post haste!

Last year’s Super Rugby and International rugby yet again underligned the value of players like Michael Hooper, Richie McCaw, Marcell Coetzee, Heinrich Brussow, Deon Stegmann and their ilk and the teams who played without classic “Fetchers” had to dig deep to make alternative plans to fill that void.

Filling that void can be done, but it is my considered opinion that those plans are contrived measures, rather than the natural order of things.

I’m not saying the “fetcher” role is the most important role in rugby, but it ranks right up there with the other absolutes!

“Maklike Girls” on the other hand is not a requirement… just a blessing… oh-oh… now I’ve stepped into it… I retract what I have just said… totally!

Talking about filling voids… and I mean it in a “Fetcher” type of way, not in the “Maklike Girls” kind off way… behave yourselves, please!

It is time to fill your voids in the PUB tonight, the FIRST PUB NIGHT of 2015.

Let’s focus on the PUB tonight…. the idea with PUB NIGHT is to lighten up our dull Tuesday evenings with music, comedy and fun.

Rugby takes a backseat tonight as the clan and fellow rugby nutters gather and wheel in their old friends…

Read the rules below carefully, or you WILL get burnt!

Just for clarity sake, when someone does not adhere to the Rules of the PUB, EVERYBODY jumps on them and pummels them, right… understood?

Here’s how it works:

  1. Before you are allowed to greet, comment or take part in general discussion about anything else, you enter the PUB with a lekker Music Video found on Youtube.
  2. You copy the URL (web address) of the clip… and you make sure it is NOT the Mobile version of the URL (the Mobile version has a solitary “m” in the beginnig of the URL… just replace the “m” with “www” if there is a solitary “m” somewhere).
  3. Sometimes you have to replace the “http” part with “https” too… but we do not take excuses, we will pummel you anyway!
  4. You Paste the URL into the Comment Form Box of this Article and you SUBMIT your comment.
  5. Your video will appear in the Comments section.
  6. If you fail with your attempt and it does not appear, we WILL kak you out, we will pummel you with insults… and LAUGH at you, you silly muppit!
  7. Once you have a successful Video loaded, you can take part in the discussion and add more music, but beware, every broken link will cop you an “Uitkak” and a laugh at your expense.
  8. Failure to abide by the rules, will be punished by requiring you to say a seriously denigrating thing about the Provincial / Club side you support and asking all of us, by name, for forgiveness and acknowledging our clear superiority.
  9. Most important rule: Nobody is allowed to get angry… this is all in good fun!

Fire away!

Today, our FIRST VIDEO will be this one, here it is!

Come on, show me up, do better than me!

The Waterboys have just released a new album – Modern Blues. Heard a track on the radio today – November Tales, well worth a listen if you like them, at times especially in the chorus reminds me a bit of Neil Diamond style.

If you can get to see go for it man, brilliant, it was fantastic music and on top of it a good show with the lights etc. Talking of Genesis will be going to see Mike and the Mechanics who are coming to town, think it’s in March. Hopefully can get to see Phil Collins too someday, all that talent coming out of Genesis what an amazing band they were.

I know we are in pub night mode so not really rugby chat time but if any of you want to reminisce about good old days, near the end of the Scotland 6 Nations squad article I put up today is a clip with some of Bill McLaren’s commentating, enjoyed it a lot.

Hi robzim didn’t get to see what this song was that you posted last night, this was the one he ended his concert with so we went away with this in our heads after such a big energy filled concert it was a calm quiet ending to it all, no big loud noise just a gentle ending and we all just filtered away after it. He introduced it by speaking about the folk in Hong Kong as that was the time of what was happening there. Playing this now takes me right back to that concert great stuff Approve
