    Yes, by the TMO at the replay
    To determine the exact spot the ball was passed and the relative position it was caught!
    The old soccer pitches in the the UK had straight lateral lines formed by different grass cutting to help with the offside decisions by the linemen, same principle applies: the feet!
    Saying that, the forward pass’s no longer applicable in NZ rugby 😉
