Rory KockottKockott has not signed with Toulon for next season and remains loyal to Castres for now.

Kockott’s current deal at Castres ends in June and there has been a lot of talk that he is looking for a move to one of the more traditional clubs.

Kockott’s agent Bruno Xamma denied that here has been any talks with Toulon.

Bruno Xamma: “Kockott has not signed anything with any club. First we’ll meet with Castres, then the player will decide in November,”

There has been no secret regarding the fact that Kockott wanted to part ways with Castres last season, but after beating Toulon in last year’s final, Kockott had a change  at heart and decided to stay with Castres.

The Castres coaching staff is aware that there are numerous clubs in talks with Kockott but they are sure that they can convince him stay.

Castres manager Matthias Rolland: “We’re still in discussions with him and we retain the hope that he will stay with us.”

“We know he’s in contact with other clubs and that’s not new. Rory is a straight up guy. Nothing has been done, otherwise he’d have had the courtesy to inform us.”

Kockott joined the club in 2011 and has been in exceptional form. He ended as the top point scorer last season with 276 points, ahead of Johnny Wilkinson. He also scored a winning try in last season’s final against Toulon.

Castres will have to extend his contract soon as he has become a star player in France and is already receiving a lot of attention from other clubs.
