I Thought the Bulls were the better side in the first half and that the Lions were hanging on.

Having saidf that, the Lions played the game they’ve been playing all season in the second half and it all came together.

A young Bulls side just came unstuck against a Lions side that have been playing togethor all season.

Best game of the day thus far.

Go SA. Hope you have a good game.

No not here Piet. Old Skop on keo was insulting Elton like you cant believe boet. Terrible to read every week of Super Rugby. Felt for Elton. So just hope he stays with his Lions for next years SR and never goes back to Stormers. Also read on Sports24 Stormer supporters insulting him.

Anyhow he shut them up good tonight. He looks far better with his Lions. Their style of play suites him and he looks happy there and that makes a huge difference.

    @ Puma:
    Oh, ok thx.
Maybe Jantjies would rather go overseas than to the Cape then, if he had to leave Jozie. But the Lions will play Super 15 next year, surely, so why must he move, or am I missing something?

    @ Puma:
Hopefully Jantjies didn’t read what Skoppie and those other ‘critics’ had to say about him.

    182 @ Scrumdown:
You’re a really good winner Scrumdown cheers, but I think you’re being too kind, it is definitely a very young Blue Bulls team ravaged by Bok call ups, the departure of too many players since Super rugby and injuries so that explains our second half implosion, but Lions must have played really well to score all those tries in the first place and although by far the more experienced team I would dispute that the Lions have been playing together all season, many of their games they were meant to play were cancelled, their players were shipped out to various Super rugby teams where some were injured some stalwarts have departed. In fact with everything that’s been going on around the Lions its really hats off to your team for keeping things together, I have wondered how you held on to as many players as you have and in the interim even recruited some fringe players from other places – maybe a big part in this has been coach Ackerman and I heard you had a good backline coach as well.

    190 @ Bullscot:
Swys Joubert is the backline coach.

Lions STILL don’t have a defensive coach, but at least they are manning up a bit better of late.

Still concede silly point too regularly though.

What I meant is that the nucleus of the Lions squad has been basically playing together all season. Sure we got some players back, and guys like Franco make a huge difference.

Nice to see Willie Britz growing with more game time. Ackerman will have a few hard choices to make when the likes of Whitely and Hollenbach are fit again.

Anyway, time to go and take on the links. It’s a lovely day on the Highveld, so only the hangover to blame if I play poorly.

    Have a good day everyone.
