Yeah well done Cheetahs for making it a close one and at least coming away with a bonus point. Didn’t watch it Loosehead but it seems your guys did well to claw things back as I see score was 30/13 for the Bulls at one point, was it all great play by Cheetahs or Bulls relaxing too soon or a bit of both?

Stormers would have anyway beaten those two that had bye,s so maybe they missed 2 posible bonus points, but then again they dont know where is the other teams try line, they only concentrate on defending theirs.
Blues misse out on 2 bonus points versus the Force and Kings, thats for sure.

Was a very difficult match, but I think the Bulls took the foot off the Cheetahs throat a bit at the end. Bulls were leading 30 / 13 (17 point margin) before taking the foot off.
That said, the Cheetahs are full value for their money this season.
My player summary for the game is as follows:
Good scrummaging by the Cheetahs and good reward for 3 Cheetahs props and a hooker in the Bokke squad! Chiliboy had a very good match, was always dangerous and willing. Dean Greyling was the biggest problem for the Bulls in the front row… and the Bulls WILL give 2 to 3 scrum penalties away per game with Dean at loosehead… time to get rid of him and continue onwards with Morné Mellett.
Sublime lineout work by the Bulls (Who are the Cheetahs locks again… anybody… Cheetahs4eva?) and good reward that both Bulls locks are in the Bokke Squad.
The battle of the Loosies was enormous yesterday, but dare I say that Heinrich Brussow was held a bit quiet by the Bulls loosies. There was very little to choose between Heinrich Brussow and Deon Stegmann (apart from the fact that Deon scored a try of course).
Arno Botha played well at blindside for the Bulls and Lappies labuschagne played well on blindside for the Cheetahs.
Pierre Spies certainly had a much better game than his opponent No 8, Philip van der Walt… and showed why he will play No 8 for the Bokke this June. In scrums going backwards the ball was picked up well by Spies under severe pressure on quite a number of occasions, he drove well, took the ball up well, linked well and made some great captain’s decisions.
At scrummie Hougie had a much better day compared to the 2 previous games – great improvement. Piet van Zyl of the Cheetahs was quiet and totally overshadowed by Hougie. Jano Vermaak had another good one for the Bulls and of course another try as well! Jano MUST be the premier scrummie in SA at the moment. Sarel Pretorius was’nt bad at all.
Morné Steyn delivered yet again for the Bulls at flyhalf… a couple too deep uppies spoiling an almost flawless performance. On Cheetahs side Riaan Smit had a very good game, quite surprisingly…. I wondered why Elgar Watts was subbed before the game and now I know why.
Jan Serfontein MUST be the Springbok starting No 12! Robert Eberson did not do badly at No 12 for the Cheetahs, Jan was just better and bust the line better!
At outside centre it was quite a battle between the 2 mates JJ Engelbrecht and Johann Sadie and as Jan Serfontein’s centre partner I think that JJ Engelbrecht now finally deserves his Springbok spot at outside centre, having improved in all facets of play in 2013.
On the wings Willie le Roux was just fantastic… the kid is a Springbok! Bjorn Basson was solid but not spectacular, Jurgen Visser who moved to wing when Mapoe was injured had a much better game compared to the week before. Raymond Rhule had a nothing-match, one did not see much of him.
At fullback Hennie Daniller was solid as usual without being spectacular, when he took the ball on his usual runs he was double tackled very effectively. Daniller won’t let any side down, he is Mr Consistency. I expected Zane Kirchner to be much more rusty than he was (coming back from a lenghty injury) and apart from 1 bad knock he was solid and covered everywhere as can be expected from a Springbok.
