Hello GBS, noted you referred to this in your article yesterday but as far as I know its only Max Evans and Nic da Luca who were purposely left out of the squad and da Luca has been serving a long ban I think he picked up soon after he started playing again after recovering from injury and in fact I’m not even sure if his ban time is up. All the others who are not there are either with the Lions or injured as far as I know. In addition Jim Hamilton who was on the bench on Saturday had arrived fairly late after playing for the Barbarians in Hong Kong earlier in the week, he should get a start on Saturday.

Hi GBS yes I did I posted an article about this just around the start of this game. So that’s a whole front row missing from the original touring party, at least Ryan Grant went away to the Lions and is on their bench for today’s game.

Speaking of guys like Nyanga who basically went from a former French speaking colony to play in France, not too long ago I sat and had a looong discussion with the President of Swaziland Rugby about Rugby development in Africa.
Now if there’s someone who knows a bit about the subject it’s Michael Collison.
He’s of the considered opinion that Rugby development in Africa will ALWAYS be hampered unless CAR is split into two geographical regions comprising the French speaking nations to the North, and the English speaking regions in the South.
My “gat se deksel” is that SARU don’t seem to give a sh1t about Rugby in Africa for the most part.
Anyway, enough of my soapbox.
