Well, my Bru is quite happy… only 1 margin point out

  • 182

  • 183

Well done Elton and the Lions. Still a lot of work to be done to avoid relegation tho’.

  • 184

    Was a hard, hard game!

    Congrats Lions, commisserations Cheetahs.

  • 185

ok game over, and the man of the moment, must be Lawrence! What a doos! Not because he favoured any side, but becuase he simply hogged the attention!

  • 186

    182 @ ben_die_bul:

  • 187

Out of the 7 Super Rugby games in week 1, not a single side scored a bonus point for tries!

  • 188

    Tjeers almal.

  • 189

Very dissappointed, The players were keen to play, but no side could get any continuity with Lawrence peeping his whistle every two minutes!!

Cheetahs will be unhappy with the result, for large parts they were in control, but two yellow cards and a whistle happy ref, and the game could have gone anyway!

Whew. I think I’m gonna go and get sloshed now.

The handbrake and her niece and nephew are at Dolfyne Dans Klub at Boksburg Eeufees Saal until 00h30, so lets CELEBRATE an emphatic and totally dominating win. (not)

    @ grootblousmile:

  • 193

    190@ Cheetah4eva:
Agree. But Strauss’ yellow could have, and should have been red.

I think he’ll be in front of a Disciplinary Committee on Monday and will spend a few weeks away from the game.

  • 195

    @ grootblousmile:

  • 196

    192@ Pietman:
Ever the optimist I had the Mighty Lions by 15.

But then I had the Bulls by 12 as well. Which they should have had if they hadn’t dozed off and given a k@k try away.

  • 197

    @ grootblousmile:
Wragtag! Kap jy my weer net-net met een punt!
    Tjorts eers.

  • 198

  • 199

OK Gents, time to shut down, grab a beer and wait for Messrs Drotske and Mitchell to come and give us a couple of minutes of their time.

Well done to all the winners.

Ref’s, get with the program please. If the game is blown to death, irrespective of what Paddy O’Brien wants, people won’t pay to waytch the CRAP you guys caused this weekend.

Oh, and Johnathan Kaplan, you need to go on a diet. You look like you’re trying to catch me up with your boop.

    Cheers.

    That was a loooong day’s rugby….

I could have been a bit better off if I had not forgotten to pick for today’s 1st game… alhough I think I would have chosen wrong anyway… was a bit of an upset, with the Landers winning that one.

Biggest winning margin of Week 1 of Super Rugby goes to the Stormers, with only a 13-point difference.

  • 203

    @ Scrumdown:

  • 204

Although the refs this weekend in the SA games were’nt the best, I don’t think they favoured a side anywhere.

Bulls can complain about the Sharks try and that blatant forward pass… the Cheetahs can complain about a couple of things, so too the Lions.

Mark Lawrence did not win or lose the match, you team did, against a spirited side, who came back hard… as hard as they possibly could.

What is more pertinant is that none of the 5 SA Franchises can be happy with the quality of their play in Week 1… and neither can any of the New Zealand or Australian sides be.

All sides are bound to get better… and already be a bit better in Week 2.

  • 205

204@ grootblousmile: Missed the entire match, how was it?

  • 206

    205 @ Just For Kicks:
Goodish… also lots of errors, lots and lots of penalties, lots of ill-dicipline.

    Typical Week 1 rugby.

Was nice that it was very tight here at the end, both sides had to work very, very hard…. excitement was high.

  • 207

204@ grootblousmile:It really was rusty rugby all round. The good news is that it will only improve, because on the whole, it wasn’t the greatest spectacle. But as I say, I’m putting it down to ring rustiness, and expect an all round better performance from all teams.
