Wallabies (17) 30 / Springboks (3) 13 (Final Score)

The Wallabies hosted the Springboks in Brisbane, Australia at 12:00 SA Time. This is the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSpor 1 on DSTV in SA.

The Wallabies, like feared, had a plethera of possession and break-down ball to work with in the 1st half, ran intelligently and recycled the ball well.

This earned them penalty after penalty and they built up a hefty lead as a result from kicks at goal.

In the 2nd half, when Dewald Potgieter replaced Ryan Kankowski, things evened up a bit, enabling the Springboks to score 2 tries but the Wallabies fought and defended well to maintain a lead and run out winners by a 17-point margin.

The final score was Wallabies 30 / 13.

Game over, a good win for Ozzies.

With almost no possession, we cannot play, simple as that.

Well done Wallabies. Good win there.

Congrats to Walla and OldG that post here. Your team were very good today.

We are not good enough, and some obvious changes must be made. We desperately need more grunt and a fetcher. We look weak upfront, and i mean in general play.

Ja Cheers manne, dit suig en ek is uit vir vannaand

Puma, now we must root for Louis in the golf.

And i see Pakistan won against the Aussies.

Bok players need to rest completely for 10 days. Their bodies are tired and need to rest more than training.

Then back to the highveld and stay there and train before the ABs arrive, get the altitude back into the lungs.

New selections too. Some were very poor on this tour. If it was tiredness then the rest will help but some look totally not up to it.

A good result for the Wallas. Boks aren’t that far off; it will be vastly different when they play their home games. Anyhow, a rest for the boks and carnage for the Wallas against the ABs.
Good night all, I’m back to the party!!!!!!

@ Old Griquas 14 in Sydney:

We don’t look like world champs at the moment.

  • 223

Congratulations to Aus, they deserve to be the winners.

    Sad game by the Bokke.

Dificult to point a finger at individuals in such a sorry bunch, but Spies is nowhere?

    Coaches the prolem, without doubt.

See Naas is away until Jan next year. Always enjoy his views on the game. Hope they don’t replace him with that idiot John Robbie.

@ Boerboel:223 – BoerBoel. Think the coaches should be replaced. All of them. How can we have Muir as our backline coach? He lost huge, huge with the Lions in the S14. Something has to be done. Also selections is always key we not selecting the best.

How we miss FdP? and Juan also Bakkies. Bakkies has let the team down by getting banned with that head butt. Needs to come back more disciplined. We miss him in the team but he needs to keep the discipline.

@ Snoek:215 – Yip I will root for L. Oosthuizen. He made us really proud winning the Open. Never saw the cricket. Pity I have missed plenty cricket cause of the world cup. I watched all the world cup games loved it.

At least our Sharks are doing okay. Not sure how well they played last night, but read not too good but we picked up the 5 points.

Okay out of here now. Catch up later.

    Cheers all.

@ Puma:225 – We also need Frans Steyn back.

    Okay now out of here.

Puma, yes we need new blood in the team and in the coaching setup. I also think Matfield needs a rest.

If one compare Vermeulen’s play last night with Spies today it is like chalk and cheese. I don’t realise it is a different level of compettition but I actually want to compare game plans. Kanko should not have played, Louw should have played. And Spies needs to be replaced.

We surely miss Juan Smith and a few more.

I’ve got huge respect for Smit, but we need Bismarck. If not Bismarck because of injury then Tiaan Liebenberg or Gary Botha.

I’ve never thought BJ Botha is a Springbok, he’s been shown up.

Before I nam the whole team I’ll stop.
