43 – Irish, Yes mate. I thought it was going to be between FdP and BOD. We all thought that FdP would win it and if he never BOD would get it. Never ever did I think McCaw would have won ‘Player of the Year’ this year. He was not at his best during the Tri-Nations and was injure part of the year too. So was very,very surprised to see him win it.
I knew SA would win team of the year because of the Lions series we won and beating ABs 3 times on the trot. That were the reasons I thought we would win it even if we lost to Ireland yesterday.
Ireland have had their best year too mate. You can be proud of your team. They going to be a threat come world cup time too. Your coach doing great work with them and you have a brilliant forward coach in Gert Smal.

We will have to agree to disagree, although as McCaw said – there is little to nothing in terms of calibre between the nominees. He came back from injury, after sitting out several matches, to record a total of 10% more tackles over the entire season than another All Black & brought his team back from a 50% strike rate to 71%.
Yes, it was a sensational game to watch & not just because of the out come – I had French commentary & they get sSOo excited it was hysterical !! They went old school on the anthems & had only the teams singing them … clearly no dodgy rastas available 😉
I grew up watching the ball flying along in the comapny of backs so for me personally it was a thing of beauty to behold those quick lads clearly enjoying themselves 😀
