Eastern Province Kings flank Luke Watson will have an operation for a knee contusion, with a cartilage flap on Wednesday.

The inspirational leader has been a peripheral figure for the past 2 seasons because of injury.

The EP Kings have been struggling to build momentum and Watson’s presence would have been a huge lift for the men from the windy city.

The EP Kings released their latest injury report on Monday.

Wing Siyanda Grey is the only new injury concern after the weekend’s 9 / 20 loss to the Steval Pumas in Nelspruit.

He has torn his hamstring and the severity of the injury will be assessed later on Monday.

Shane Gates is still recovering from a fracture of his 5th mata-tarsal in his right foot.

He will have an x-ray done later this week to assess his healing progress.

Aidon Davis will be out for 7 months after having an operation for a tear of his right knee.

Gary van Aswegen and George Whitehead both had knee surgery and will be out for 3 months and 4 weeks respectively.

Cameron Lindsay will have surgery on his knee, but the date for the procedure is yet to be confirmed.

Ronnie Cook should be back within 2 weeks after fracturing his toe.

Dalk het hy gedink dat as hy permanent beseer is en geen wedstryde gespeel het nie hy aan al Heyneke se criteria voldoen en dalk WB toe sou gaan?
