    @ MacroBull:

You seem to put a lot of emphasis on specifically the Stormer supporters being happy when Bulls and Sharks lose. To put your comment in context you should mention that you live in a place where people predominantly support the Stormers so as an “outsider” you will be more perceptive to the “joy” they experience when those teams lose. If you were a Stormer in living amongst predominantly Bull supporters you would most likely has made exactly the same comment only replacing “Stormer supporters” with “bulls supporters”.

    @ robzim:
Well I said a few times I base the observation on personal experience, I also lived in Natal and Pretoria, but it certainly is a thing here to have more joy in the bulls and sharks losing than the stormers actually winning, maybe it just stems from years of underachieving in the WC, that there is hope for the other teams not to be successful either? I don’t know.

182…the same will happen in Durban and Pretoria no doubt… but it is quite overwhelming here.

When I lived down there in George, I found the same.

The population of George and surrounds tended to either support WP or the Bulls (for some strange reason)… and of course also their local side, SWD.

If they did not support the Bulls, they were clearly anti-Bulls often to a spiteful extent… and took delight in the fact when the Bulls lost.

So, I hear very clearly what you say and experience.

I guess it works the other way around too in the sense that those in the Southern Cape who are clearly anti-stormer also take great delight when they lose.

Do you remember the keo blogger called “XkreniWP”? …. he was/is a bull fan and one of the most anti-Wp bloggers in the history of rugby- blogging. He claimed to be a guest- house owner in the Wilderness… as I quite often stay in guest houses in that area I often wondered whether the owner is not perhaps him…. if he knows who I am he might put poison in my coffee 🙂

    Hahaha

I know his real name… we were in E-Mail and Telephonic contact a number of years ago, when I was still on Voldy.

He has (maybe had) a Guest House on the Dune, partway through Wilderness, there before or near the Holiday Inns somewhere.

Yeah, he was not fond of the Brokies…
