HurricanesAll fit and available All Blacks in the Hurricanes’ squad are set to suit up against the Lions in Round 1 of the 2015 Super Rugby season.

A calf injury has ended Jeremy Thrush’s hopes of getting his season underway this week however, with the lock returning to New Zealand on Wednesday. He is expected to be available for selection in 4 to 6 weeks, depending on his recovery.

Thrush’s injury has made way for Mark Abbott to grab a starting spot, while his Hawke’s Bay teammate, Geoff Cridge, has flown over to join the team in Johannesburg.

Nehe Milner-Skudder was not considered for selection this week, due to a knee injury.

Hurricanes: 15 Jason Woodward, 14 Cory Jane, 13 Conrad Smith (Captain), 12 Rey Le-Lo, 11 Julian Savea, 10 Beauden Barrett, 9 TJ Perenara, 8 Blade Thomson, 7 Ardie Savea, 6 Brad Shields, 5 James Broadhurst, 4 Mark Abbott, 3 Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, 2 Dan Coles, 1 Ben Franks

Awesome backline for the Canes… and the forwards are almost just as impressive!

I wonder why this always-star-studded Hurricanes side does not do better in Super Rugby year after year… it has always been a big name player squad!

Goooooooo Lions, moer hulle sommer stukkend!
