WalesWales have made three changes to their side to face South Africa on Saturday, with Gethin Jenkins, Scott Baldwin and Liam Williams all coming into the starting fifteen.

Jenkins and Baldwin will link up with Samson Lee to form the same frontrow that started the clash against Fiji a fortnight ago.

The rest of the pack remains unchanged from last weekend’s game against the world champions New Zealand, with Jake Ball partnering Alun Wyn Jones in the second row and Dan Lydiate and Taulupe Faletau lining up alongside captain Sam Warburton.

Ospreys halfbacks Rhys Webb and Dan Biggar continue their partnership as do the record breaking centre duo of Jamie Roberts and Jonathan Davies.

The only change in the back three sees Liam Williams come in for the injured George North. Alex Cuthbert and Leigh Halfpenny wear No 14 and No 15 respectively.

“We have had a couple of changes forced upon us, with the injury to George and with Paul and Richard returning to their clubs but we have named what we think is a very strong side,” said Wales head coach Warren Gatland.

“Last weekend was a very intense, physical encounter. The guys were disappointed but we have come in this morning, the squad are feeling fresh and the focus is looking ahead to Saturday and the test against the Springboks.

“As coaches we will be asking for the same effort, intensity and desire as last week and we want a repeat of that at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.”

On the bench Emyr Phillips, Aaron Jarvis and Rhodri Jones are named as frontrow cover with Luke Charteris, who made his 50th appearance against New Zealand last weekend and James King, completing the forward contingent.

Mike Phillips, Rhys Priestland and Scott Williams are named as the backs replacements.

Crisis in the wardrobe department. Do I wear my old ‘Montgomery 15’ Springbok Replica Jersey to the game on Saturday or is it just too dated?

    Worry

    @ Blue Bird:
Hi Carol, I trust you are well.
The knowledgeable rugby lovers should know that Percy holds the SA record for the most points scored against Wales – so it is not “too dated” at all. I’d say wear it with pride 😉

They all get thinner and lighter when they stop weight training and drinking all the supplements

As for the 6 inches I don’t know him that well 😈

    @ Blue Bird:

    You’ll look cool in that.

Glad you’re asking us and not the Welsh guy that bought you a ticket to the match. 🙄

    @ Victoriabok:

All jokes aside a friend of mine met him when the Boks were playing in Pretoria

He said Percy is a real gentleman

  • 9

    @ Victoriabok:

To think Percy was ridiculed for playing in white boots and gelled up hair.

And now check the green, orange or blue boots. Tattoos for days. That’s just Pretoria. 🙄

We hated Percy before he left, with the boots, the blonde Gaylord hair and his unwillingness to catch high balls, actually he slapped them away

When JW brought him back he was as good or better than Juba

The first player with white boots was a WP fullback in a final, I’m not sure if it was Faffa Knoetze

The coloured boots are horrible, the tats are worse especially Hougie

If he could play some decent rugby we might have forgiven him but now he’s only a minor celebrity with tats like a crack hoe

The first player who played in white boots was the WP fullback called Calla Scholtz.
He is nowadays a farmer in the Overberg region.
    Faffa Knoetze was the centre.

That’s it I thought Faffa was a centre

He killed NTvl in that final

Another player that killed us was a reserve scrumhalf

We were playing your great 80’s WP team

    Divan went off injured

We thought “Aahh, now we’ll beat them”

They brought on a bearded scrumhalf, I think his surname was something -huis, like Bonthuys

    He killed us

Ja old Faffa was a very good player…. a very clever guy too… cum laude student who qualified as an actuary… The bearded scrumhalf was Francois Bonthuys… solid player with a very good boot who occasionally played flyhalf too if my memory serves me right.

I can’t believe he became an actuary

I think on average the amateur players of those days were a lot smarter than a lot of the players today

Divan, Brendan, Adolf Malan, Daan du Plessis, Uli, Michael du Plessis all are qualified people

They all played for their universities before becoming provincial players

These days the largest, strongest and fastest boys get fast tracked from Primary School

Ja Francois Bonthuys, he was a good scrumhalf

    Hi Charles

Sorry I missed your earlier reply…Now I know for sure that I will wear my much loved Montgomery 15 Replica Ladies Jersey!!

    Who-s-the-man

  • 16

Oh, for the record Robzim informs me that Percy is 93kgs (Yes, I don’t know how he knows this stuff, Percy probably trains at his gym)!!

So this makes him actually nearly 35 kgs heavier than me!! Aerobics

WRS is very cool about me wearing my BOK jersey, he was very amused when the Boks last won at Cardiff and a Welsh guy leaned over and shook my hand and said “Your Boyos were just too good for us today”.

In my best Saffa accent I replied “Think you veree mitch” !! Whistling
