Springbok prop Jannie du Plessis has not recovered from a hamstring injury and will miss their final tour game against Wales in Cardiff on Saturday.

Du Plessis sustained the injury against England at Twickenham on 15 November and missed this past weekend’s game against Italy in Padua (Padova).

He was expected to be back for the Wales Test, but needs more time on the sidelines.

Warren Whiteley picked up a calf injury during training recently and also has not recovered sufficiently to play in the final Test against Wales on Saturday.

Coenie Oosthuizen is likely to start at No 3 again this weekend, with Julian Redelinghuys to get another shot off the bench.

Saturday’s clash at Millennium Stadium kick off at (16:30 SA Time).

OK, the Bokke were 36 on tour, then some more were added (Paige, Boshoff & Dreyer)…. and we know that 8 Bokke have now left the camp… make that 9 because Jano vermaak is also gone.

That leaves 30 Bokke of which Doc Jannie & Whiteley are injured, leaving 28 of which 5 will not be in the match-day 23…

The 5 likely not to be in the 23 are: Scarra Ntubeni, Rudy Paige, Ruan Dreyer, Jaco Kriel & Marnitz Boshoff.

    (Revision curtecy of charlesm)

The only real questions which remain are who will be the scrumhalf and flyhalf to start, 2 will play, 2 will bench… as well as who will be the starting loosehead and hooker.

So, the 23-man Squad should be:

    15. Willie le Roux
    14. Cornal Hendricks
    13. Jan Serfontein
    12. Jean de Villiers (Captain)
    11. Lwazi Mvovo
    10. Handré Pollard or Pat Lambie
    9. Francois Hougaard or Cobus Reinach
    8. Duane Vermeulen
    7. Teboho “Oupa” Mohoje with an outside chance for Nizaam Carr
    6. Marcell Coetzee
    5. Victor Matfield (Vice Captain)
    4. Eben Etzebeth
    3. Coenie Oosthuizen
    2. Bismarck du Plessis or Adriaan Strauss
    1. Tendai “Beast” Mtawarira or Trevor Nyakane

    Replacements:
    16. Adriaan Strauss or Bismarck du Plessis
    17. Trevor Nyakane or Tendai “Beast Mtawarira
    18. Julian Redelinghuys
    19. Lood de Jager
    20. Nizaam Carr or Teboho “Oupa” Mahoje
    21. Cobus Reinach or Francois Hougaard
    22. Pat Lambie or Handré Pollard
    23. Damian de Allende

    @ grootblousmile:
Marnitz Boshoff is the other player on tour

    2 @ charlesm:
Flok, my maths suck… and to think I passed 1st year University Maths and Applied Maths…

    Blame it on Altzheimers!!

Marnitz is also unlikely to be in the match 23.

Fark, I’ll just revise Comment #1… because I CAN!

Whiteley was never likely to get any game time anyway.

He just had a wonderful month long tour of Europe at SARU’s expense!

Doc Jannie should use the time off to get a haircut

The Cabous van der Westhuizen look is long past

Surely we should discuss hair related issues with his hairdresser IF HE HAS ONE?
