@15 Ja, vera lCharlesM se geselsie, sy voormense mos uit daai Boesmanland/Bo-Karoo.
Oom Abie en ander oud-Springbokspelers uit daai omgewing soos oom Abe, Attie Baard, Daantjie Rossouw, Dick Lockyear, Ian kirkpatrick en Willem Barnard het soms ons skool besoek en rugby afgerig. Ek was matriek op Keimoes kosskool (ouers het gedroom ek sou gaan boer op Ma se grondjie, en toe gooi hulle my in semi-landbou skool!), so ek het saam met van daai boere rondom Kanoneiland waarvan Charles praat skoolgegaan. Naaste wat ek egter aan boerdery gekom het was die druiwemos wat ons op die skool se landbougrond by Skanskopeiland gebrou en gesmous het…
