The Barbarians will be coached by Stags coach, Brad Mooar, and managed by Leicester Rutledge. Like traditional Barbarian teams there is likely to be an international flavour to the selection along with a number of promising Stags and players from other New Zealand provinces.

Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph said, “It will be great to get down to Invercargill and show the Southland people how we have progressed as a team since 2013.

“This is an important game for us as we build into our first game back after the June break against the Chiefs.”

There will be a Highlanders 1st XV competition curtain-raiser kicking off at 17:00 NZ Time between Menzies College and St. Peters College showcasing the school boy talent from around the region before the main match kicks off at 18:30 NZ Time.

Members and sponsors will receive preferential ticketing from Friday 9 May and public sales will commence on Friday 23 May. Tickets will be available online and from all Ticket Direct outlets (Adults $20, Secondary Students $10, Children U12 Free).
