Jeeez, Skydiving is the Master of Adrenalin Pumpers… your eyes feel as big as saucers afterwards and you feel like you control the universe afterwards, you feel invincible.

    Helloooooooooooooo Maikie!

Like jy die nuwe site design?

  • 34

@ grootblousmile: Yeah, dead serious. Had it in Sept ’95 at the age of 38 & am on my third or fourth set of stents now.

The problem with the skydiving was that I was never active enough to progress beyond static line & did my 18th & last jump around ’93…

    Tears

    @ Scrumdown:
the other teams handling has been just as poor as ours this year

  • 36

    @ grootblousmile:
Site design is baie nice!!! ek is compressed 😀

  • 37

26 @ Scrumdown: Kobus the pilot in Witbank used to tell student skydivers that: “most newcomers jump out the plane when they see how I fly”!!!

    Afraid

    @ MacroBull:
Yep I agree, don’t know what is going on!!! Must be global warming!!! when all else fails, blame global warming 🙂

    34 @ BrumbiesBoy:
I went well past my static line jumps… did the initial 5, then 5 “Mock Freefall” Static line jumps… then quickly went on to Free Fall. First we had 3 x 5-second Free Falls and then we went higher and higher.

    Where did you jump from?

    I jumped from Mordor (Witbank).

Absolutely true, and so difficult to explain!

Another bumper sticker they had read: “Skydivers know why the birds sing”

I do think that is why the Saaarks have that edge as they have Cheryl Calder helping them out with their eye hand co-ordination.

    35 @ MacroBull:
But let’s be honest, the first half of the Sharks – Cheetahs and the second half of the Stormers – Lions last week were both PATHETIC.

If a person who knew F-All about Rugby Union saw that crap they would never bother to watch again.

Piss poor adverts for the sport IMO.

Het jy gesien, Parkies, onse alma mater, is NR 3 in die TOP 20 Rugbyskole!!!

  • 44

@ grootblousmile: Yep dis awesome, ek luv dit!!!! Parkies bo !!!!!!! hahahahaha

  • 45

    39 @ grootblousmile: Snap!

Because I kept delaying my jumps I had to start from scratch & then work my way back to “dummy ripcord drill” but then kept falling back again.

I envy you as I never progressed to freefall & that first one must’ve been nerve-wracking!

    40 @ BrumbiesBoy:
    I did my 1st Jump on 27 May 1995

  • 47

    46 @ grootblousmile:
Some would say youve been in freefall ever since!

    Overjoy

    45 @ BrumbiesBoy:
I was in the 1st sortie that went up after training on Day 1… of the 5 of us who jumped, I sat 3rd in line (they sort the okes from heavy to light)

We had about a 25km/h wind to contend with, so landing against the wind basically cancelled out your forward speed.

The chap who jumped just before me, landed with the wind and broke his ankle.
I landed perfectly, about 20m from the white marker.
The lady who jumped 5th, was scared, so she kept pulling down on her toggles and drifted about 1km away and landed in the tallest tree in the Witbank area (in the middle of a prison yard) and had to be rescued by the Fire Brigade and Electricity Department (Fire Department’s ladders were too short) – she never got her 1st Jump Certificate!
