Rugby-Talk LogoThe rules caught up to ALL of us. We never intended the DRAWS to be so dominating. All 8 remaining players left after the last Round, never expected a Bulls draw, so they all fall out and we have nobody left standing!

A draw is not a win and that is exactly how it feels after the Bulls disasterous draw against the Chiefs! It feels like the Bulls lost.

If one changes the Rules and count losses and draws together as NO WINS we will have all 8 players living to fight another day.

We could do a vote on this Article, and give only the players voting rights. They will have to submit their vote before 12:00 on Wednesday. The question would be Yes / No to change the format as follows:

  • Count losses and draws together as NO WINS
The Rules:
  • The moment ONE of your predictions goes astray, you will be eliminated from the competition and marked as OUT.
  • The round in witch you took the dive will be in the ALIVE or OUT column. The list will will be updated at the conclusion of each Round of Super Rugby in 2014 and the players still ALIVE will be indicated in GREEN.
  • When you fall out, your name will revert to RED when the updates are done.
  • Simply selecting how many LOSSES and how many DRAWS every South African franchise will have in the OPEN Rounds (16 games a side), is enough, obviously the rest will be wins or bye weekends and do not matter in this competition.

Otherwise the competition can end, like initially intended and divide the prize into 8, but this is far from ideal.

Each franchise plays 16 games in the regular season, 8 against fellow South African Conference sides (home and away) and 8 against the sides in the other 2 Conferences.

    Hahaha

Let’s just let this game die a painless death!

The next time we devise a game, we’ll make it simpler and easier to stay alive.

    What do you guys think?

  • 2

    Wow, everybody out?
This SR has been so topsy turvy it’s not surprising.

  • 3

I am with GBS on this one, next time we can make the rules easier and maybe give the Stormers fans some slack on their predictions HAHAHHAHAHHAHA Cry

Good on you superBul for coming up with the idea in the first place and then ‘putting your money where your mouth was’ by sponsoring a prize for it Approve Didn’t enter, being so far away, so can’t vote on how it should be decided now but would suggest you give a prize to all 8 that were left from the previous round as they were all winners then. Looking at the table it’s a pity for the folk who did go for a Bulls draw that they were knocked out before this round.

Should this try have been disallowed? Perhaps maybe for carelessness but surely not technically – Carlin Isles (who was recently signed by Glasgow Warriors) played a match for Ayr (the club he is drafted to) against Hawick this Saturday : “He didn’t have much of the ball but when he had his one real opportunity to shine, he gave everyone a glimpse of why he is so special. However he dropped the ball as he was scoring and the try was disallowed.
The debate will no doubt go on. Technically although he dropped it, the ball went backwards from the dead ball line to the try line before he put downward pressure on it. So it wasn’t a knock on. The referee’s interpretation though was different.

“We could do a vote on this Article, and give only the players voting rights. …….”.
    Superbully.

    Are these players………….
“All Players from the start of the competition”,
    or
“All Players left Alive one week ago”.

    Either way……………………..I abstain.

    Democracy is coming to R.T.
    It’s coming through a crack in the wall;
    on a visionary flood of alcohol;
    from the staggering account
of the Sermon on the Mount
which I don’t pretend to understand at all.
    It’s coming from the silence
on the dock of the bay,
from the brave, the bold, the battered
    heart of Gans Bay.
Democracy is coming to the RSA.

    (Lenny)

    So anyway……………………I abstain.

R-T’s always been more democratic than the SA Government!

We’re all EQUAL here… I’m just a bit MORE EQUAL!

    Happy-Grin

Or let me rather put it this way… I have to take some Executive Decisions every now and again…

Hello GBS So does that mean you get 2 votes or do you get to ‘control’ the result of the election Wink Happy-Grin
By the way if you get time what do you make of the disallowed Carlin Isles try I posted #5?

  • 13

    12 @ Bullscot:
It means I have a VETO right, should there be an EQUAL vote both ways…

    Delighted

  • 23

    Fanus batting well again

  • 24

    Dankie Stormers, dankie vir fokkole

  • 25

    @ MacroBull:
The Dutchies deserve a win in this Comp.

And ……………………against Old Blighty, they have my blessing.

    😉

  • 26

    @ cane:
gosh big wicket now with Myburgh out.

Cane truth be told, it is a miracle how they lost to us, it was honestly unjust how we won.

So they absolutely have to beat England Angel

  • 27

The Netherlandathals now 87/2 at the end of the 12th over.

    Cruising…………………

  • 28

    @ MacroBull:
They (Holland, put up a great show against NZ as well.

A win over England here would cement Englands slide into mediocrity.

And believe me ………………………….as a NZer,
I know how shit mediocrity can be,
in a cricketing sense that is.

    😉

  • 29

the netherlands lost their way now, they easily go into their shell the last two games after what happened after the SA game.

    @ cane:
Come now, you also support the Hurricanes 😛

  • 30

    @ MacroBull:
No need to be cruel Macro.
I do have feelings and I can be hurt.
