Die game plan van die arme stormers is hulle grootste proebleem. Hulle lyk net of hull nie die skills het om teen hierdie tipe spanne te speel nie. Sad but true.

Well, Chiefs looking good to defend their crown, with solid, structured rugby, good attacking and good defence…. very balanced play all round.

Dasie foutie ou maat, dit was te verwagte
Ons gaan nog baie pyn het die jaar, half n mooi terugveg poging, maar die telling is n ware weergawe van hoeveel beter die Chiefs was

Shall we mosey over to the Rebels / Crusaders Game Article?

We knew beforehand the Stormers had a tough draw, have to feel for the boys, but hell, they are not doing themselves any favours either…

Chiefs basic game plan. Play territory and built phases. Score in the last 10 minutes of the 1st Hadley; score in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half and lift the tempo in the last 10 minutes. Stormers helped them with total unconscious rugby in those time brackets. What happened to analysing your opponent and countering their basic strategies. Haak haak die Stormers is kaak.

Second time in 4 games that the Stormers have conceded 30 points
That’s a worrying aspect from a team that relies mostly on defense

Yup, thats the crux of it. One relatively good defensive game last week, and we all think that all’s well in the Stormers camp again, and we’re on the way back up, but in truth, as I alluded to last week, the Stormers points, and “near wins” are coming from individualism, a desperate desire and a lot of heart from hugely talented players, whilst the coached game, especially defence, is just going backwards. 102 points against the Stormers in 4 matches – A team that prides itself on defence?????

This is not the players fault.

the score not a true reflection of the game. the stormers were in it with a few minutes to go

Afgesaagde storie van my maar ek staan nog daarby. Jy kan nie week na week 15 punte verdedig nie. Jy moet speel om self 30 te kry.
Keer moet jy keer maar kry iets op die bord

Gutted maar het dit kinda verwag

Haven’t watched it, an unfortunate time for me early morning Friday; payroll and all
Playing in NZ against their best team without your 3 hard-men in Etzbeth, Elstadt and Rhodes rendered that match a lost cause well in advance for the Stormers.

    @ Hondo:

Very true..and the fact that the other hard-man Vermeulen went AWOL for most of the match did not help either.

I am convinced no SA team will beat the Chiefs in NZ .. but that does not make the loss any easier to swallow.

    Rob @ 312
I am still to watch it but with all aspects of the SR considered, I doubt that either the Sharks or the Bulls will beat any of the Kiwis’ top 3 on their away legs
I wonder how much of a ‘mitigation’ did Craig Joubert provide for the Stormers, my guess is he helped them very little?

Can’t wait for AC and JdV post game interviews
    🙂
Words such as ‘gutted’, ‘frustrated’ or ‘angry’ are expected? 😉

  • 315

    @ Hondo:

He certainly did not help them a lot.. he referred most of the 50/50 calls to the TMO who did not disappoint the home crowd even once.

    @ Hondo:

if Alister reads the comments on the official Stormer website he might try and get at least temporary residency in NZ.

Didn’t watch the game, but what I read it was quite a hiding.

Well done Chiefs and back to the drawing board for the Stormers. Like I said last week it is going to be one very long season for us supporters. A big change is needed in the structures is what comes to mind…
