Rugby-Talk LogoAnother nine players in this competition were eliminated this weekend. The Lions proved to be their downfall and the way the Lions team came back from their year out in the cold has already cost many players in this game their life.

Some reprieve to all the other non-believers, the Lions have a bye this coming weekend.

The Lions’ win took out another 9 players. The players who perished this weekend are Blue Traveler, 4man, cane, Just For Kicks, Labuschagne, MacroBull, Nortierd, superBul and WikiLeaks. They drop out because the Lions took the scalp of the Reds.

By winning, the Lions made sure they cannot lose more than 12 games. The players who predicted 13 non wins (losses and draws) for the Lions are eliminated because their scenarios are not possible anymore. Having lost or drawn only 2 games so far and with only 10 games left in the regular Super Rugby season (before play-off’s) the most games the Lions  can lose or draw is 12.

I would like to Thank MakroBull for pointing out the mistakes we made in counting out players in this competition last week. Also to Grootblou Webmonster for the corrections he made. This is a new competition and there are a lot we can improve upon. Please feel free to suggest anything.

After this weekend’s bloodbath, we are left with only 8 players. Grootblousmile, Gena_ZA, Gumboots, Leon, Puma, Scrumdown, Scrumsaam and Snoek. Maybe the 15 casualties can start predicting who will be the eventual Champion here.

It looks like Players who picked so many draws did not understand the implications properly, we will all learn from this game, any draw is added to the losses and the rest is the possible wins for a team.

Predicting how many games each of the South African Conference franchises will lose, is the object of this game. After 5 Rounds of Super Rugby in 2014 we had 19 players left in the field, now we are down to 9 after Round 6. We started with 23 players.

Each franchise plays 16 games in the regular season, 8 against fellow South African Conference sides (home and away) and 8 against the sides in the other 2 Conferences.

Although the rules stay the same, we will use this first ever competition to develop and fine tune a future competition which will keep early drop-outs interested for longer. If you have any suggestions please post it in the comments section of this article.

    Well well, well so there i go. Lions doing great and showing me a BIG middle finger. I deserve it, never gave them a fair chance. They certainly took stock and rebuild their team. Lessons they took from the Kings was that passion and teamwork can take you somewhere. Dont think all the way but at this stage they are well on their way to the play offs.

    @superbul
    Ditto

    Two big games for SA big hopefuls the Sharks and the Bulls this weekend.

    Bulls would have preferred a fast asleep over confident Chiefs side than this waked up desperate Chiefs team that will come with added vengeance.

    Waratahs are the leading try scoring team , with the lowest against score margin in the competition. They will be a tough team.

    This weekend can really be quite a trend setter.

    Only 9 left hey!!

    The amount of Stormers & Cheetahs losses and draws now also seriously comes into play for most of us left in the game.

    By the way Gena_ZA, I see we picked exactly the same… so we will live or die at the same time….
