Six players in this competition were eliminated this weekend. The Lions proved to be their downfall and the way the Lions team came back from their year in the cold will cost many a player here their life.
The Lions win took out five players. Timothy Bornman, Cheetah4eva, OzzieKiwi, Winfreux and GoBokke&Ireland. They drop out because the Lions took the scalp of New Zealand hopefulls, the Blues. By winning, the Lions made sure they cannot lose more than 13 games. They three players predicted 14 losses. With Winfreux and GoBokke&Ireland, their scenarios are not possible anymore either.
Another Lions win will see 6 more players dropping out.
Loosehead was in fact the first casualty of the weekend. He predicted that the Stormers will lose only two games. They lost their third against the rampant Chiefs. Only a very brave person would have bet on the Stormers to win.
Predicting how many games each of the South African Conference franchises will lose, is the object of this game. After 5 Rounds of Super Rugby in 2014 we have 19 players left in the field. We started with 23 players.
Each franchise plays 16 games in the regular season, 8 against fellow South African Conference sides (home and away) and 8 against the sides in the other 2 Conferences.

I was looking at mine specifically Lions 12 losses and 1 draw, this only allows the Lions to win 3 games and not one more? So a 4th win and I am also out?
So if they win the Reds, it is impossible for them to lose 12 and draw one.
I initially made my selection only thinking we were going to look at losses and draws only, so i called each team to draw once, because for example if the bulls get a draw vs the cheetahs then only me and Labuschagne wont get knocked out (I think he had the same idea as me).
Basically a draw also counts as a “non-win”.
If we are only looking at losses, then what is the point of draws? or are they like tie breakers?

We could have said, predict the losses, draws and wins.. but it was not necessary to say how many wins… once you’ve chosen how many losses and draws, it pre-supposes what the amount of wins would be.
So, Stormers with 3 losses, is ON that margin line for those players, one more and they will only THEN be OUT.

As jy gesê het die Stormers gaan net 3 games verloor… en hulle staan nou op 3 verlore, beteken dit mos dit kan nog korrek wees, AS hulle nie nog 1 verloor nie… en die draws kan mos ook nog MOONTLIK kom.
So eers as jy die drumpel van verlore / draws VERBYGESTEEK het, val jy mos uit.
