CheetahsCheetahs coach Naka Drotské has picked the same starting team that lost to the Lions for their Super Rugby clash against the Bulls in Bloemfontein on Friday night.

Sport24

The Cheetahs surprisingly went down 21 / 20 to the Lions at the Free State Stadium last weekend, but the coach has resisted the temptation to change his run-on 15.

The only change is on the bench where Hennie Daniller replaces Rayno Benjamin.

Johan Goosen will start at flyhalf despite injuring his arm against the Lions. Scan results showed no tear or any further injury to his arm.

Kick-off is at 19:10 on Friday.

Cheetahs: 15 Willie le Roux, 14 Cornal Hendricks, 13 Johann Sadie, 12 Francois Venter, 11 Raymond Rhule, 10 Johan Goosen, 9 Shaun Venter 8 Phillip van der Walt, 7 Lappies Labuschagné, 6 Boom Prinsloo, 5 Francois Uys, 4 Lodewyk de Jager, 3 Coenie Oosthuizen, 2 Adriaan Strauss (Captain), 1 Caylib Oosthuizen

Replacements: 16 Ryno Barnes, 17 Trevor Nyakane, 18 Maks van Dyk, 19 Rynard Landman, 20 Jean Cook, 21 Sarel Pretorius, 22 Elgar Watts, 23 Rayno Benjamin.

Naka must get Trevor fit. The scrum went much better when he came on.

  • 2

Naka should tell HM to fcuk off and play Coenie at loosehead.
How long into the game will Goosen be injured?
    Bulls by 20.

Last week picked Cheetahs to win now not so sure. Bulls forwards were very good against the Sharks, just that they have picked the same halfbacks that never really played well. Cheetahs backs are better I feel and especially their 9 and 10. Bulls lost it to the Sharks backs could that happen again against the Cheetahs? Then again Bulls have never lost to Cheetahs since 2006 or something like that. Have no idea who to pick on bru this week.

    1 @ SaKiwiRoo:

It sure did and there seems always to be a problem getting Trevor fit it seems and that is a shame as he is a very good player.

Well, Cheetahs hit a big banana skin against the Lions. The big question is which team will learn from the mistakes they made last week?

  • 18

    pums @ 15
sorry pums. no idea how the vacuum between toetie’s ears works!! Cry

    17 @ Lion4ever:
Yip that is for sure. Think Cheetahs have a better backline than Bulls and that is where they struggled last week. Their forwards were very good and probably will be again. Then the Cheetahs team is a good team as well. So not totally sure. Think both are hurting from last week and will want to put it right. Might go with Bulls by 3. Though their 9 and 10 are terrible. Where as the Cheetahs 9 and 10 are top class.

    17 @ Lion4ever:
Cheetahs also have Willie at fb and he is way better than Visser. Though Willie made some daft mistakes last week, probably trying too much on his own.

  • 21

gathered it was for me lol

  • 25

    @ Puma:
Hougaard seems to have lost his mojo. The balance in the Bulls pack is wrong. And backline is misfiring. Until they sort out problems at 9&10, and in the loose trio, they will be vulnerable.
For the Cheetahs, Willie must play percentage rugby, and the opportunities to sparkle will present themselves.

  • 26

    25 @ Lion4ever:

Bulls should have started with Hougaard on wing and play Van Zyl at scrummie he was way better than Hougie when he came on. Pollard is better as well and should be starting at fh for the Bulls.

Surely you mean 8,9,10 and 15?
