ScotlandPlayers from Edinburgh Rugby, Glasgow Warriors and Scotland 7s have been drafted to the four British & Irish Cup teams, ahead of the cross border competition that starts on Saturday 12 October.

At the beginning of the season the same players were distributed between the ten RBS Premiership clubs. A further re-draft has now taken place to split them between Ayr, Gala, Stirling County and Edinburgh Accies.

    1 @ smallies:
Hi smallies, well spotted there – WP Nel drafted to Gala. Yes he is well appreciated here and sounds like you also rate him, not sure why he never got higher honours in SA, but I think its about another two years, give or take a few months, and he could qualify for Scotland on residential grounds, wonder what he will do whether he will stay at Edinburgh to qualify on those grounds. Edinburgh really struggling so far this year after a bad season last one as well but hope they pick up under Mr Solomons as the season goes on and WP is happy enough to stay there to get qualified. One of my favourite moments from the rugby here last season was the sight of WP scoring a wonderful try, he ran a good distance and through a dummy any backline player would have been proud of on his way to scoring the try. Will try find the clip and post it later when I get chance if you’ve not seen that try.

Smallies and Pietman here is the WP Nel try I spoke about earlier today, really enjoyed seeing that live on the TV and it just gets better each time I see it Approve

Dit is swak dat ons sulke talent verloor. En hoe meer mens na ons oorsese spelers kyk hoe meer mis ons hulle. Hier is WP nel nou ‘n goeie voorbeeld.
