Deficit is 5, minutes remaining is 5

  • 102

Landers defensive lineout, just outside their 22.

A converted try will do it for the Canes now

  • 103

    Come on the Canes!

    Heck of a game this.

  • 104

This must be the basketball rugby everyone was talking about
Jeez, maybe the Canes still make me smile today
    :-)

  • 105

Landers slowing everything down now, to a crawl….

  • 106

    104 @ nortierd:
Yip, no sense of defence either side….

This is not rugby, this is helter skelter hell!

  • 107

    Last chance Canes
    Go for it

  • 108

Just more than a minute to go… Canes scrum

  • 109

    Landers penalty… it’s all over

  • 110

    Final Score: Highlanders 49 / 44 Hurricanes

    Damn
    What a weird game
Pity the Canes couldn’t snatch it at the end, but if I had to get one game wrong this weekend, rather this one than the next
    :-D

  • 112

Pity Canes could not secure the ball there, cost them. If they had think they might have scored again. Landers win. Jeepers have got this bru thing wrong this weekend.

  • 113

6 % reg op Superbru. Behalwe vir die Kings hoop ek hierdie was die laaste verassing van die naweek.

    Nortie bud,

You must play in our bru pool for the RC. So must our kiwi friend here.

Hellooooooooooo Meanie… nice of you to grace us here with your presence!

  • 116

Strange game, thought the Landers at one stage was too far ahead for the Canes to even think of coming back. Canes sure came back and almost sneaked a win in the end. Pity as I had them on bru to win here….

  • 117

Dankie GBS. Ek kom se maar hullo terwyl ek nog onder die top tien is.

  • 118

Whilst high-scoring rugby like this might be sexy to some, I think it was a woeful display of no structure and sloppy defence!

Yip agree its too close to call, and especially with you saying Australia have 3 fetchers in their squad means the battle and breakdown will be interesting – lets see who can adapt to the refs handling of that the best – George Smith will have so much experience on his side but have not seen him play in ages, do you think he is fit enough to last whole game? The two forwards you mention are a big blow but to be honest don’t think Warburton has reached the high levels of play he did at World Cup 2011 in a while and while he when at the top of his game he is probably the better all round loose forward from what I’ve seen this year I rate Tipuric as the better fetcher, so hope Tipuric gets a good amount of time to show what he can do.
Regarding O’Driscoll – he has played 8 in Lions tests and won …. 2, how many Six Nations titles has he lead Ireland to and where did Ireland end up on the table this year. Interesting O’Driscoll played in their first game where Ireland beat Wales (7 out of the 10 Wales starters for today started that game and they were captained by Warburton, Alan Wyn Jones missed that one to injury I think) but it was pretty much downhill from there, losing in last game to Italy where he picked up a yellow card.

I will be putting up a Rugby-Talk Pool for The Rugby Championship as well as for Currie Cup on Monday to Wednesday somewhere….

Will put up a big Article about it with the codes…

    @ Bullscot:
I think Smith will go for 90 if they require that
I think we will only really know the extent of the team psyche regarding the BoD dropping once the first player books’ are published.
Maybe it had a detrimental effect on some, but the combination at center is more settled today
Warburton had a good game last week, but we will see whether his leadership will be missed
There are very good players in the Lions team, but no real leaders
The Aussies have Horwill and Genia
Smith is held in very high regard and the younger guys will really look up to him
