1st Half scrums were good by the Bokke, with Doc Jannie at tighthead.
OK, let’s look at the debutants and those with little Bokke experience:
Arno Botha was solid and put in the hard yards and hard tackles
Jano Vermaak’s service was crisp
JJ Engelbrecht did not disapoint
Willie le Roux was good… some little blapses but good overall
Bryan Habana deserves Man Of The Match… he was always dangerous.

Some of the Bokke rhythm still not great.
Can improve… but I think we should be happy
General Springbok defence was good, some good back-tackling in the 1st half.
Bokke forwards created a good platform in the 1st half.
Areas to improve… a backup tighthead is needed, time to let Lourens Adriaanse have a go at tighthead, with Jannie on the bench… might be a good call for the next game.
Bring in Hougie at scrummie, with Ruan on the bench again, seeing as Jano Vermaak will be out injured. Who to call up as 3rd scrummie now?
Maybe start with Jan Serfontein at No 12, move Jean one out to No 13.
Willie le Roux should start again at No 15.
All Blacks were also rusty as hell this morning….

Ek sal vir Juandré Kruger rus en vir Eben begin op Nr 5, met Flip op Nr 4 as die experienced ou.
Ek dink ook Morné Steyn moet ‘n behoorlike ruskansie kry… ons weet nou hy is die Nr 1 losskakel keuse en sy skopwerk is spot-on soos gedurende die hele Super Rugby reeks hierdie jaar. So speel maar vir Lambie want hy het baaaie ruimte om te moet verbeter en weer vorm te herwin na sy sukkel-Sharks jaar.
Jean de Villiers kort ook rus, maar ek kannie sien dat Heyneke hom sal rus nie, so rus maar vir JJ Engelbrecht en gee Jan Serfontein ‘n full go op Nr 12, met Jean op Nr 13.

Thinking back to this game… the Italians only scored when the Bokke were reduced to 14 men, with Bjorn in the sin bin.

Ons weet minstens nou Heyneke Meyer is nie bang om besluite te maak en vorm spelers kans te gee nie.
Ander ouens se kritiek op Heyneke was altyd dat hy te konserwatief is en met blinkers geslaan is… maar dis duidelik nie so nie.
Hy het Willie le Roux lisensie gegee, netso het Morné Steyn ook mooi laat loop punte toe.
Die doemprofete sal daar altyd wees… en die wat Heyneke Meyer nie kan verdra of vertrou nie… maar hulle moet maar vir hulle kry, ek voel ‘n veer vir hulle.
