Yeah… to be honest I have… and the Handbriekie’s been in hospital, man…. so the priorities had to shift in the CORRECT DIRECTION for a few days.

She’s out now, I went and fetched her about an hour ago.

I’m trying to catch up with some of my other work-related jobbies today on the public holiday – been a kak week with very little sleep!

Have to go to my Benoni Office just now for about 2 hours… couple of bits and pieces to do there.

I should be back to put more content on here on R-T after 5 pm again.

Please feel free to add some content at will, that counts for all Authors here, you guys will be helping out a lot.

Fokkit gbs sterkte! Moet ‘n aaklige gevoel wees.

Every time my Cheaters give me hope they collapse spectacularly, so for now I’m going to remain positive yet slightly skeptical. Apart from the Chiefs we’ve gotten fairytale away fixtures, let’s be honest, so we need to see this last one through, beat the Rebels and give the saffer teams hell. If the Bulls fare badly and the Stormers and Sharks struggle on their travels (with their fixtures they might very well) the Cheetahs could cause more than a few headaches.

More than that I’m not going to wish for.

The thing that gives me hope is that Goosen was not the key behind our victories. He was consistent with his kicking and distributed well, but did nothing out of the ordinary. Smit can do that as well.

The key has been more urgent and organized defense and speed in the backline (honourable mention to the loosies). Better defense = more turnovers = opportunities on the break. I’m willing to bet our backline as a unit will leave any saffer team in the dust, and it’s that raw pace that’s allowed opportunities on the break to become tries. I hated our static Currie Cup team of a few years ago and can’t be more happy with what we have now.

Even with very biased reffing against the ‘tahs we came away with the win, that fact cannot be understated as decisions that seem minor change to flow and momentum of games. The Force played with a lot of guts against the Reds, but are not a polished team by any stretch. The Reds were just gobshite. We have a chance, let’s take it!

    8 @ Die Valk:
Cheetahs have a good chance to beat the Force, with or without Goosen. Just keep thinking this Force team almost beat the Bulls at Loftus. Are we underestimating them by any chance? Also agree the Reds are terrible right now, so not looking at their win there rather how they played against the Bulls.

  • 10

On bru who to go with:

    Bulls/Reds – Bulls I think

Cheetahs/Force still not 100s Probably go with Cheets

Stormers/Brumbies – Think Stormers. Though thought the Brumbies had picked up more injuries agains the Sharks see only their only one not starting from last week. Alexander on the bench for this week.

    6 @ grootblousmile:
Sorry to hear that gbs. Hope much better today.

  • 12

    @Puma,

If I played bru and was top of the log I’d say Reds/Force, if I was playing catchup Reds/Cheetahs.

Historically the Bulls have not done well against the pace of the Reds game in Oz, and I expect a backlash after the performance against the Force and the coach’s announcement.

The Force are a bit of an unknown quantity and a risky bet, especially since they’ve (like the Cheetahs) taken a few notable scalps along the years at home. The Cheetahs were handed the win by a shocking flyhalf who would have given away three tries if Le Roux didn’t fumble the intercept against the Highlanders. That gave us confidence and despite being too defensive for a long period after we went 14-6 up and suspect reffing we pulled through. In the past we’d not have done that. We looked tired against the ‘tahs, but will have had 8 days of rest and plenty of ‘injuries’ (thanks Rassie) to lengthen the game I’m sure. The Force made quite a few errors like the Reds, and since that’s where we excel we undoubtedly have a chance.

That said it should be a good weekend for watching rugby. Good luck with your teams gents!

    12 @ Die Valk:
You know last week and the week before if I put who I thought would win, I would have climbed a long way up bru, instead I listened to others and I saw by butt…..hahaha. Ag, this week I am not too concerned I am so low down now.

I thought Force just may sneak it against Cheetsh, but Cheetahs will be fighting to make this 3 from 4 and with that I have put Cheetahs by 3, Bulls by 3, Stormers by 5 and Sharks by 10. Only have Saders to beat the Kings, just don’t see them stopping the Saders they way they stopped Sharks and Chiefs, think Saders will win by 30.

So have 4 saffa teams winning this week, hope I am right. Brumbies have all of their team thought some were injured, they have their normal th back as well. That is gonna be a almighty battle at Newlands. Still think Stormers will stop them. Well I am hoping, we need our teams to beat the top teams. Otherwise none of us here will have a semi, or a play off. We will travel again.

  • 14

    12 @ Die Valk:
The Reds seem hopeless this year though. I might have put them down because Bulls have 9 changes in their side, just keep thinking how terrible the Reds are. Then again they could surprise and start to play the way we know they can.

Force are a bit of the unkown. After they got beat by the Kings gave them no chance against the Bulls, then they almost beat the Bulls at Loftus. Beat the hopeless Reds as well. So not really sure what to expect from the Force right now. Cheetahs are playing well though, so think they will win that one. Hope so, would like to see 4 saffa sides win this week.

  • 15

I think you could see your gat again backing so many SA teams. I definitely think a Brumbies win is on the cards, and I’ll always back the Reds at home against such a relatively slow kicking team while they have Genia and Cooper.

Good luck though, and may your poachers triumph with champagne rugby!

  • 16

This is the Jake White i would have liked when he coached the Springboks
“Since the beginning of our season the aim has been to win every game we play. That’s the mentality we have to bring on Saturday evening if we are a chance at beating the Stormers.”
Not rate me at the end of 4 years guy.
It seems that at least he grew and “learned”, a thing he always said after his many defeats by the hand of the All Blacks and Wallabies. Learning.
