Allister Coetzee has named his 22 man squad to take on the Brumbies this weekend
Fit-again Springbok centre Juan de Jongh will start at outside centre for the DHL Stormers in Saturday’s Vodacom Super Rugby clash against the unbeaten Brumbies (kick-off 19:10). De Jongh will play in his first competitive match of the 2013 season, having picked up a hamstring injury during a pre-season match against the Cheetahs early last month. The return of De Jongh, for this clash at DHL Newlands, will see captain Jean de Villiers shift to inside centre, with youngster Damian de Allende warming the bench after starting three matches in succession.
Other changes to the DHL Stormers backline – from the side that started against the Chiefs two weeks ago – see Gerhard van den Heever come in for his first start, as a replacement for the injured Bryan Habana, whilst Dewaldt Duvenage takes over at scrumhalf from Nic Groom, who will revert to the bench.
There is just one change to the Stormers pack, with Springbok Tiaan Liebenberg, who made his comeback from the bench against the Chiefs, taking over at hooker and Deon Fourie starting amongst the replacements.
Joining Fourie, Groom and De Allende on the bench this week is Springbok back Jaco Taute – back in action again after taking a knock to his groin region against the Bulls in the Stormers’ opening match of 2013.
“The Brumbies are the pace-setters in the 2013 Super Rugby tournament – it will be a tough game against a quality side, but we’re looking forward to the challenge (of playing against a quality outfit),” said Stormers coach Allister Coetzee.
“Their set-piece is good, they put the opposition under pressure with ball in hand and it will be a good challenge for our defensive system and defence line. Technically, the Brumbies have been good, as they showed against the Sharks, but people tend to be overlooking the fact that this Brumbies side is a physical unit too.”
Tickets are still available for Saturday’s match and can be purchased at the DHL Newlands ticket office (right up until kick-off), PostNet outlets and online at wprugby.ticketpros.co.za.

Good team with the Sharks but really I feel Keegan should be on the bench. He had a awful game last week and thought Kanko was far better and even got our only try. Then of course we don’t have a captain. Pleased to see Ludik is playing as he has been really good at fb.
Sorry that Fransie has to be benched, but he is not playing well right now. Also he is carrying a slight neck niggle I read. Feel with Bosman next to Lambie we may get some tries, that is if our Forwards man up this week and Reinach can get some fast ball as he has not been playing well and nor did Charl last week either, that alone puts pressure on your fh together with the forwards not doing their job. So here is to hoping for a far better game by my Sharkies. Very good to see Viljoen back as well.

Hey I like your team for this week. AC has done his homework, though I would have liked to have seen Deon on at openside. Kolisi still a good choice though. Good luck to your Stormers. Doubt very much that team will be run over as my Sharks were.
I would give Keegan another go, he just returned from injury and as I understand it he is an inspirational captain and a very good S15 player.
Viljoen has some X-facotr, hope he get’s more than 10 minutes, bring him on a 10 and shift Lambie to 12 to keep the opposition guessing

Keegan has just returned from injury and he was not very good last week, where as Kanko was better. Also Kanko is very good in the lineouts. I would have had Kanko start and bring Keegan from the bench until he is match fit. Then we don’t have a captain so doubt Plum saw it that way. Our other captain is on the bench and not playing well right now. We could have made Franco captain as he has captained the Lions before.
Pleased to see Viljoen back. Odwa was not playing well either.
Anyhow hope my Sharks have a better game this weekend.
Viljoen is covering fh though and not fb. Well that is how I see it. Think Fransie is covering fb and inside centre.

Last week, the Brumbies cut the Sharks to pieces, thanks to a scrum and lineout that served as a highly-effective launchpad for their attack.
The Brumbies are doing a thing called team work. While the Sharks who gets upset by lesser teams rely to much on individuals rather than combining all that individual talent into a synchronized group.
Looks like Peter Grant is out for 4 weeks, so Elton will have time to settle. Good for him, and good luck to Bash.

I think now that you are very busy and if you are out, one of the other Authors should put up teams when they announced, even if they mostly cover their own team. I don’t see any problem in that. Bulls team was announced very early yesterday morning and Sharks later in the day. Took a long time before there was a thread on those teams. SB could put it up for us if you out. What you think?

Elton might settle more now knowing his place wont just be taken as well. Might allow him to play the kind of game we all know he can. Though if he does pick up a injury who will play fh? When will Elton start taking kicks at goal? As that is denting his chances of a Bok place. Meyer will never select a fh that does not kick for goal. As with our Boks our fh does that we don’t have another that can there.

I really hope so, it’s a big thing moving teams and there is a lot of expectation on his shoulders, if it doesn’t work out for him I fear for his future confidence.

I think Elton is a class fh, he just suffers nerves and it can be worked on. For now it is right that he does not take the kicks as it will allow him to settle, but eventually he will have to, if he wants to keep his Bok dream alive. For Stormers it does not matter though as you have Joe who is doing a splendid job. Elton will be fine and his defence will get better the more he plays for Stormers and so his confidence then feel his nerves will settle as well.
