According to the medical report from team doctor Org Strauss, numerous other players will undergo rehab and recovery in the coming weeks.

Jan Serfontein injured ankle ligaments and will be out of action for at least six weeks, while Dawie Steyn will be out for between 8-12 weeks due to a fractured wrist.

Dewald Potgieter will also not be allowed to make any contact till 10 December to recover from a chronic AC joint injury.

Deon Stegmann (arm fracture, 3-4 weeks) and Pierre Spies (finger operation, 4-6 weeks) are already on the casualty list.

Jano Vermaak and Lionel Mapoe, who will be on loan from the MTN Golden Lions for the Vodacom Super Rugby season, have also being ruled out for a week, due to an abductor muscle strain and concussion respectively.

All these injuries to the players is why we need a squad with depth and one of the reasons I’m happy that Pierre Spies has signed for another 3 years. We’ve already lost so many loose forwards to ‘greener pastures’ and on this list alone there are another 4 (including Spies) injured. Only one question it lists Jano Vermaak as ‘on loan’ from the Lions but we signed him quite a while ago so who is the other player thats on loan with Mapoe?

Is there not a problem with the conditioning at the Bulls that they have so many injury problems? Worry

    2 @ Loosehead:
MUST be, they have almost a third as many injuries as the Free State Cheetahs, and we all know Free State have a conditioning issue… hehehe
