The Aviva Premiership gets underway this weekend,  with the first match kicking off at 1500 South African time on Saturday at Twickenham. There will be a further four matches on Saturday with the final game for the round due to kick off at 1500 South African time on Sunday.

Current champions Harlequins will begin the defence of their title in the season opener at Twickenham on Saturday against London Wasps.  Saracens and London Irish clash later in the afternoon in the second game of the Twickenham double billing.

Newcomers London Welsh will start their life in the Premiership with a tough home game against Leicester Tigers on Sunday afternoon.

    Bath/Worcester game requires attention. Francois Louw is supposed to play in this game. This will show his fitness level.

    Yes dWeePer will be interesting to hear how Louw plays, also interesting that although he is in Bok squad who I think depart tomorrow for Aus or may have already left Louw will be still playing in the UK so bound to get there a while after the rest. Maybe Mr Meyer would prefer he has one competitive game under his belt to check as you say what his match fitness is like. When the Bok squad was announced I commented here that Bath hadn’t played competetive rugby yet this season just done pre-season stuff, and of their 3 games I could only tell that he had played in 1 and definetely missed 1, not sure about the third so was wondering if he would be match fit.
