The Beeld reports that promising young lock Quinn Roux, has signed with Irish club Leinster.

This following the news of CJ Stander’s move overseas. Roux was widely tipped as a future Springbok lock.

In other news, the move of young bok pivot Pollard to the Bulls has now been confirmed, with WP having the consolation of contracting the Cheetahs Craven Week pivot Pieter Jordaan. He is the brother of Sharks Paul Jordaan, and is one of only a few players to have represented the Cheetahs at Craven Week, for three years.

Howzit Cheeta4Eva, How you bud? Hope well.

Where did you read that Pollard’s move has been confirmed? Jeez if so, Bulls have snapped up a really talented player.

    Hey Puma,
I am well, and you? It was confirmed in an article on Sport24, and in the Beeld, and this time round, the WP “mismanagement” didn’t deny it, but divulged, that they in turn signed Paul Jordaan’s brother Pieter Jordaan.

    3@ Cheetah4eva:

Was looking for the article on Sport24 as they normally get the news first up.

How old is Pieter Jordaan? Also do you rate him? How good a player is he? To be honest have not noticed him, have no time really to watch craven week. If he is talented like Paul then Province has snapped up a good player.

    4@ Puma,
My apologies Puma, it was confirmed by Volksblad, not News 24. I haven’t seen young Pieter Jordaan in action, but apparently, this year will be his third year playing Craven Week, which is quite an achievement in itself.

We are churning out some talent aplenty. Young players that can play for the boks in years to come:

LH: Beast, Kitshoff, Coenie, Marcel vd Merwe, Greyling
Hookers:Strauss, Bismarck, Chilli, Mark Pretorius, Jason Thomas
TH: Malherbe, van Dyk, Cilliers, Coenie, Marcel vd Merwe, Herbst
4: Willemse, Eztebeth, Roux??, Jandre Marais
    5. Bekker, Kruger, Ruan Botha, Steph du Toit
    6. Brussow, Liebenberg, Kolisi, Adendorf
    7. Alberts, Deysel, Coetzee, CJ Stander?? Strauss
    8. Vermeulen, Spies, Mthembu, van der Walt, Booysen
    9. van Zyl, Vian van der Wath, Piet Rademan
    10. Goosen, Pollard, Lambie, Jantjies, Zeilinger
    11. Mbhovane, Sithole, Mvovo, Mjekevu, Enhelbrecht
    12. Serfontein, Steyn, Strauss, Venter, Paul Jordaan
    13. Swanepoel, Small-Smith, Whitehead, Sadie,
    14. JPP, Rhule, Hougaard, Poolman
    15. Taute, Le Roux, Lambie

    The mind boggles!

    5@ Cheetah4eva:
Quite a big list of players and also still some current Bok players missing that can be added to that list, what was your criteria for the list, when you spoke about young players what age was the ceiling as you’ve left some good Bulls players out and the likes of Habanna? One young uncapped player not there is Nic Koster, this is a guy who has hyped up so much from his Craven week days and had established myself in the table topping Stormers team before his injury, yes probably as a result of injury to Vermeulen, but still he must be a good player, what are your thoughts about Koster Cheetah? The competition for the no. 8 jersey could become an interesting one, post 2015, don’t forget young Arno Botha who seems to have sunk back a little this year after injury but was the star U20 player last year and went straight into Blue Bulls team and some folk think Marcel Coetzee’s best position is eighthman.

Interesting to note you think Steyn’s future is at No 12, is that because you know that once he regains his kicking form he is a must for the Boks, hopefully he will be back to his best at Loftus this weekend Wink

    @ Bullscot,
Lol, I was looking at players 25 and younger. Yes you are right, I did miss Arno Botha, he has been good. Koster has been good too. A coach can put quite a formidable team togeher out of that lot. And Vermeulen is older than I thought, he turns 26 this year, but I gave him a reduction, becuasehe was injured for two years lol.

I hope neither Hougaard or Morne regain form this weekend Whistling

    8@ Cheetah4eva:
Ok was just wondering as wasn’t sure of the definition of young, Kruger, Spies, Ralapelle (although his career probably been extended by time out to injury and being on the bench so much), Bekker, Alberts, Deysel and I guess more are over 25, but you are right that is a strong group of players to select from, but the coach can only chose a certain amount at a time, we don’t want caps handed out left right at centre. The one thing to remember is that this year’s crop of winning U20’S may provide the odd star in the next few years but the bulk of their time would probably be post World Cup 2015, at the same time the All Blacks have been dominating U20 rugby for many years, before this one, so while I’m not familiar with most of their youngsters we need to remember that they must have probably an even more impressive talent pool to choose from and as they had been on top for so long at U20 level many of these guys will be ready now, so its going to be very tough to come up trumps against the All Blacks.

Apparently Quin Roux is only going to Leinster on a 1 year contract, due back at the Stormers in May 2013
