Super Rugby: Stormers loan Canadian loosie

Canada’s Jebb Sinclair has been loaned by his Aviva Premiership side London Irish to the Stormers as loose forward cover.

With Schalk Burger, Duane Vermeulen and Nick Koster only due back after the June break, the Canadian international will bring experience and physical presence to the young Stormers loose forward contingent.

Sinclair will be available for the next four games for the Stormers, will then play for Canada in the June international window, before returning to Cape Town for the Stormers’ remaining three league fixtures. In terms of the SANZAR regulations, he will not be eligible to play any knock-out games should the Stormers qualify.

Sinclair has 25 Canadian international caps (2008-2011), the last being the Rugby World Cup game against New Zealand in Wellington, on October 2, 2011.

Sinclair took up a contract with London Irish after the World Cup.

    Onder normale omstandighede sou ek gekla het dat ons nie die jong ouens kans gee nie, maar AC se oordeel hierdie jaar was sover spot on. Ons het seker van die jongste spanne in die kompetisie met tawwe laaties. Ken nou nie vir Jeff nie, maak ons kan aanneem hy is ook redelik aggressief. Hopelik d….r hy nie van Tafelberg af soos sy naamgenoot nie.
