The Sharks have named their leaders for the Super Rugby Tournament of 2012.

Keegan Daniel have been given the honours again to lead the Sharks pack this season, in what one might see as a continuity plan. That and the fact that he has the respect of his team-mates and the way that he plays, made him the obvious choice to Plum.
Bismarck has been named Vice Captain, as Keegan cannot play every game.
Both these leaders have been described as guys leading by example. “Both of these players are ultimate competitors, they are real Sharks men with a real love for this jersey and it means a lot to them”.
Congratulations to both Keegs and Bissie – Lead our team from the front, Boys!

Thing is, you have to choose a sure starter as your captain.. in the Sharks case who might they be..
Beast
Bissie
Doc Jannie
Alberts
Lambie
JP Pietersen
Keegan Daniel is’nt even a sure starter… Sharks have some very good loosies in tow – there’s Deysel, Alberts, Kankowski, Botes.
Let’s look at the sure starters…
Beast – Don’t see him as a captain
Doc Jannie – Maybe, but maybe a bit hot-headed and impulsive and ill-tempered
Bissie – Don’t see a problem with him, has let go of his hot-headedness
Alberts – Also a real possibility
Lambie – Good future prospect, currently still a bit wet behind the ears and maybe a bit too docile
JP Pietersen – Never good to have your cappie too far down in the numbers… leading from the back so to speak.
So, for me it would have been Bissie or Alberts…. but then again they would join the Bokke for a large part of the season…
… so we’re right back with Keegan Daniel, who should be good, if he can hold down a regular starting berth…
