Sharks coach John Plumtree has made several changes to his Currie Cup team to play Western Province in Friday’s Currie Cup clash at Newlands.

Plumtree has named Patrick Lambie at 12 and Frederic Michalak at 10 for this match with Charl McLeod at 9 and Conrad Hoffmann on the bench.

Speaking about playing Lambie out of position Plumtree said that the experiment had worked earlier in the season.

“I did it in Super Rugby, so can I do it in the Currie Cup, so it’s not really an issue for me,” said Plumtree on the Sharks site.

“They’re both outstanding players and we need to pick our best players when they’re available”

Springbok wing duo of Odwa Ndungane and Lwazi Mvovo replace Mark Richards and Sibusiso Sithole in the line up.

Ross Skeate is also back from injury, having suffered a groin strain against the Free State Cheetahs two weeks ago and he will partner Anton Bresler in the second row.

Eugene van Staden is the only other change, getting his first start ahead of Wiehahn Herbst who has started every game to date.

Francois Kleynhans is back to play a part off the bench while Springboks Adrian Jacobs and Marius Joubert add further experience.

Miskien moet ek net vir die tuis spanne stem. Wel, dit het ook nie verlede naweek gewerk nie.
