Last night I watched the semi finals of the IRB Womens Rugby World Cup between France and New Zealand, and England and Australia. New Zealand totally outplayed France and England beat Australia in a typical low scoring Northern hemisphere type of match. Watching these games last night I was terribly disappointed in the lack of eye candy on display. I mean, one would expect a world class event to at least show some semblance of quality, but really, these Rugby games were so error ridden and clumsy, I could not enjoy it. It was frustrating to say the least!

I do not get why women want to play Rugby in any event. Rugby is a collision sport and women are not genetically designed for this type of game. Well, unless you are a Mamma Nonu with breast implants, with nipples harder than nails pointing through your breast pads! Either that girl was on a testosterone high or she was very pleased to be playing the game! Either way, the sheer physical nature of the game is not fitting for women, not to even speak about the type of embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions which may occur. White is just not a fitting colour for a women’s rugby jersey!

Trisha Hina, NZ Black Fern. Female Ma'a Nonu?

But seriously, why would women want to expose themselves to such embarrassment by trying to behave like a bunch of macho men? There is nothing feminine about Women’s Rugby, and the poor quality of the matches is evidence that women do not belong on a rugby field. Call me a chauvinistic pig, but when I watch sports, I want to enjoy it for the quality on display and not for the right of the gender to practice the sport. And talking about quality, do not get me started on the SA Women’s Team. What a waste! Barely beating Khasakstan, a side that was beaten by 82 points when they played against England! As I said, do not get me started on them…

Women should rather play in Sports where the quality is not dependant on them imitating the brute physicality of men. They should participate in sports which they can excel at because of their own unique qualities. Take beach volleyball for instance. Now, having studied this game very closely, this is a game where woman can take on men, and no matter what the result, you are certain of a pure quality display! It relies on team work, agility, good communication skills, good organization skills, great reactive and decision making skills and excellent mental stability in tight situations.

Teamwork!

Communication

Concentration

Athletics is another one of those areas, where woman can display their unique skills. Especially when it comes to things like pole vault. And high jump. And long jump. But mostly pole vault.

Allisson Stokke

American Football is also considered by Americans as a type of collision Sport. I beg to differ. American Football is a game of obstruction. Its got nothing to do with trying to beat your defenders, it’s about your teams ability to avoid defenders getting to the ball carrier and it mostly leads to 1 on 1 situations between the attacker and the defender. So, its about obstruction and cleverly out-thinking your opponent with strategic manoevres. This is why the *Ladies Football League (LFL) is so popular, because these women know exactly how to obstruct and create diversions to enable them to put their runners into space!

One on one Defense

Obstructing

And their celebrations on touch downs are unique! You won’t see that at the Superbowl!

So ladies, if you want to play Rugby, please, either get the quality up there, or give us something to make it worthwhile watching!

Pole jumping sounds like fun watching.

I enjoyed the tongue in cheek comments regarding the sports women should participate in. I also totally agree that womens rugby is a waste as a spectator sport…general ineptness is probably the right word. I have never watched one of those games for longer than 1 minute.

I personally enjoy womens tennis and swimming and surf lifesaving is also appealing, these ladies generally look like a woman should with a bit of added muscle….nothing wrong.

    I am speechless………..

Oh well, if you don’t want women here…….!!

Just a thought, those ‘fat ugly’ women plodding around the rugby fields are having a great time, are most probably fitter than many armchair bloggers. They would be the first to admit they have got along way to go to improve their game, but at least they are having a go.

Comparing a female rugby player to a ‘Beach Bunny’ is just stupid. Rather like comparing the Beast to Usain Bolt.

This article has done Rugby Talk NO favours!!

Firstly, I have to agree with Bluebird, while I understand this article has a fair sense of tongue in cheek, some visitors to the blog may find it repulsive and sexist…

Secondly, as an aside, I am head over heels in love with “Allisson Stokke” The lady is stunning in every regard… I would be but putty in her hands..

    @ Blue Bird:
Why so scarce BB, come on just take it as fun, you certainly let us know regularly that you like Percy Montgomery.
Just look under witch category this article was posted.

  • 14

    No no no!

RT has sunk to a new low.

Yes, women playing rugby looks about as skilled as men doing rhythmic gymnastics, but why the need to stereotype them?

That said – Allisson Stokke is absolutely gorgeous.

  • 15

@ Pam AndersonWho is Allison Stokke?

  • 16

    @ Blue Bird:

They are probably much fitter and I do not recall saying anything to the likes of them being fat and ugly. My main gripe with women’s rugby is not that the girl’s are not beach bunnies, but that the quality of the game they play is appalling. Constant knock-ons and poor passing and handling, no committment to the breakdowns and just about zero physicality. There is nothing attractive about the rugby they are playing, and its impossible to enjoy.

The rest is tongue in cheek.

    @ Met Uysh:

    Welcome, nice article 😆

    @ Blue Bird:
Come now BlueBird, let us have some fun too…

Met Uysh wanted to do a follow up, with a couple of pics of Panty Montgomery in his speedo, but I guess you’ve put a stop to that now 😉

I must confess that while watching the England v Aus game with the Captain the other evening, it reminded me greatly of a (not too good) schools game, where the players still have a LOT to learn, or will never rise above their current standard.

My great worry is that Women’s Rugby is actively being pushed by our Provincial Unions, with cash strapped Unions like the GLRU pushing money into it, whilst development clubs (and all clubs for that matter) must survive on a meagre ZAR 15 000 per season.

OK, that excludes a small salary that is paid to each Club manager, as well as a small allowance that certain coaches receive from the Union, but actual CASH to the clubs is R 15 000 made up of a small administration allowance, and the balance as a “field maintenance” allowance.

A development club in a previously disadvantaged area needs to fork out between R 1600-00 and R 2000-00 per away (x 8-10) game just to get the players to the venue.

The figures don’t add up do they?

    Go Rugby Development!

I’m sorry, but woman playing rugby, boxing ,Thai kick-boxing ect is just un-lady like. I’m all up for the whole equality thing, but it’s getting a bit ridiculous’. You even get woman doing cage-fighting nowadays. Call me sexist, but I feel it’s just plain wrong.

Guys, I did not miss the fact this article was under the ‘Humour’ heading.

By all means put up some pic’s of hot looking sporty girls, I would kill for thighs like those girls!!!…….however avoid the following sort of remarks…”Lack of eye candy”……”Not fitting for women”…….”There is nothing feminine about womens rugby”…..”Women should play beach volley ball”
